We recently connected with Karen Rivero and have shared our conversation below.
Karen , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
It all started about five years ago, during my time at Universidad Iberoamericana in Tijuana. Thanks to my academic program, I had the opportunity to intern at a binational marketing agency, where I confirmed my passion for digital strategy and the creativity involved in this world. Being situated in the dynamic region of Tijuana/San Diego opened my eyes to the unique opportunities of this cross-border market—especially with the growing medical tourism industry in what is known as the most transited border in the world.
The idea of specializing in medical marketing was born thanks to my family, who believed in me from the very beginning and entrusted me with their businesses. The success of those early collaborations began to generate referrals, which—interestingly enough—all happened to be from the healthcare field. A few years later, without even realizing it, I had developed deep experience managing marketing for clinics, doctors, and health professionals across various specialties. I had found myself immersed in a complex but beautiful niche.
I’ve come to see myself as a bridge between medical science and the digital world, helping health professionals reach those who need them most. I also noticed a common pain point: doctors are incredibly busy saving lives and often don’t have time to focus on marketing, content creation, or digital strategy. That’s where my business comes in.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
IAs I mentioned earlier, my journey began when several doctors/chemists in my family entrusted me with their businesses. Through customized digital strategies—including accurate branding, video content, organic posts, blogs, websites, landing pages, e-commerce platforms, social media ads, Google Ads, SEO, YouTube, LinkedIn—we were able to generate exponential growth. Not only did these results help position them as top-tier physicians, but they also helped shape my identity as a marketer specializing in the healthcare industry.
What sets my services apart is the comprehensive, multi-channel approach I offer. Whether it’s digital or traditional media (Print, TV, and even Billboards), I have the infrastructure and team to make it happen. From strategy to execution, everything is tailored to the client’s specific goals, audience, and service offerings. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all marketing; instead, I create smart, strategic campaigns designed to meet each client’s unique needs.
One of the things I’m most proud of is being able to offer peace of mind to my clients—especially doctors who are already juggling incredibly demanding careers. I want them to know they can confidently hand over their marketing efforts to my team, and we’ll handle it all—while providing monthly reports on progress and growth.
What really solidified this as a meaningful and worthwhile path was realizing that the content I was creating—videos, blogs, ads, educational posts—was actually helping people in meaningful ways. Whether it was reversing diabetes, getting accurate diagnoses, overcoming physical insecurities, achieving successful fertility treatments, or even bringing new life into the world, my work was connecting people to solutions that truly mattered. Life gave me the unique opportunity to be a bridge between medical science and the digital world, and I take that responsibility to heart. That’s when I understood this was bigger than marketing—it was about impact; about transforming lives.
Although medical marketing is my core specialty—thanks to the many healthcare professionals who have trusted me—I also manage strategies for businesses in other sectors, both in Mexico and the U.S. These include law firms, real estate, businesses in the recreational activities field, automotive, pawnshops, education, and more! So if you have a dream or a goal, I’d love to help you bring it to life.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I like to maintain communication with my clients both online and in person. We regularly meet to review what has been done, analyze results, and define next steps. I always say, “numbers don’t lie,” so we rely heavily on performance graphs and data to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed.
I also like to stay in touch through quick check-ins via messaging to ensure everything is on track and to remain present throughout the process.
But my favorite way to stay connected is through content creation visits, which, for many of my clients, happen monthly. These sessions are not only productive and creative, but also fun for both sides—they allow us to brainstorm in real time and bring new ideas to life. It’s during these moments that the relationship truly strengthens, turning clients into long-term collaborators and brand advocates.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the most challenging moments in my journey as an entrepreneur and business owner came when one of my most valuable collaborators had to step away for personal reasons. She was one of the first people to join me on this journey, and I’ll always be deeply grateful for her contribution.
At the same time, one of my first and long-time clients—someone I also have immense appreciation for—decided to take over the strategy we had developed and manage things in-house. Both events happened simultaneously, and it forced me to step back and restructure everything: my systems, my schedule, and most importantly, my mindset.
I had to act fast—not only to fill the operational gaps but also to replace the income that was suddenly gone. I set a very clear goal for myself: within one month, I had to recover at least 30% of the lost revenue. With discipline, focus, and the perseverance I learned from my father, I managed to recover 60% of it in just two weeks, thanks to closing new clients and exciting projects that came my way.
This experience taught me that setbacks are inevitable, but resilience is a choice. It reminded me why I take such good care of my clients’ businesses—because I understand, first-hand, the emotional and financial rollercoaster of running your own. I treat their success as if it were my own.
