We were lucky to catch up with Karen Gargiso recently and have shared our conversation below.

Karen, appreciate you joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

My parents didn’t always talk about money openly, but they led by example in terms of financial discipline and perseverance. One thing they did right was teaching me the value of hard work and integrity, no matter the circumstances. Growing up in an immigrant household, they faced financial struggles and challenges, but they never let that define their worth. Despite those challenges, they always found a way to live abundantly—whether through acts of generosity, creativity, or resourcefulness. They were resourceful and always found a way to support our family’s needs while still pursuing their dreams.

There’s one moment I’ll never forget. My parents were facing a difficult financial situation, and instead of getting overwhelmed, they used it as an opportunity to talk about the importance of long-term planning and not giving up. In casual conversations, they emphasized budgeting, saving, and finding ways to pivot during tough times. I didn’t realize it then, but those conversations planted the seeds of my belief that money can be a supportive force, not something to fear.

That lesson is at the core of Sacred Money today. I work with entrepreneurs to not only manage their finances but also to heal from any money wounds or trauma they’ve carried. It’s about creating a safe and empowered relationship with money, where abundance can exist even in the face of challenges, just like my parents showed me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I’m Karen Gargiso, the Founder & CEO of Sacred Money Inc., a trauma-informed money management, financial empowerment, and wellness company. My journey into this industry began in 2018 when I saw two lines on a pregnancy test. At that moment, I knew I wanted to create a business that would not only support my growing family but also help others transform their financial lives in a meaningful way.

Coming from an immigrant household, I learned early on how deeply financial struggles can impact not just the wallet but the heart and soul. Over the years, I realized that many people, especially spiritual and creative entrepreneurs, carry financial wounds that hold them back from fully stepping into their power. That’s when Sacred Money was born—a space where money management and financial healing could coexist, empowering others to heal their relationship with money while learning practical ways to manage it.

At Sacred Money, we offer a range of services designed to support entrepreneurs and small businesses at every level. I’ve also recently launched the Profit and Pleasure Society™, a membership program where I teach entrepreneurs how to manage their business finances while engaging in money healing. This membership focuses on transforming their relationship with money, providing the tools and support they need to handle their finances with confidence and alignment.

One of the biggest problems I solve for my clients is helping them move past the fear and shame that so often surrounds money. My work is not just about balancing books and filing taxes—it’s about healing their relationship with money and teaching them how to manage it in a way that aligns with their values and lifestyle. Whether they are astrologers, coaches, healers, creatives, or sensually spicy entrepreneurs like OnlyFans content creators and sexual or intimacy coaches, I help them understand that money is not the enemy—it’s a supportive force that can help them flourish.

I’m most proud of the impact Sacred Money has had on my clients. Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

One story that stands out in my journey is from the early days of Sacred Money. In 2020, just as my business was starting to gain traction, the pandemic hit. Like many small business owners, I was faced with uncertainty. Clients were pulling back, concerned about their own finances, and I had moments of doubt about whether Sacred Money would be able to sustain itself.

Instead of giving in to the fear, I leaned into the core values that Sacred Money is built upon: resilience, resourcefulness, and healing. I used that time to pivot and deepen my focus on the emotional and psychological side of money management. I realized that more than ever, people needed support not just in balancing their books, but in healing their relationship with money. I developed new services that addressed the trauma people were experiencing around money due to the pandemic, which helped Sacred Money grow even during such uncertain times.

This experience reinforced my belief that resilience is not just about pushing through challenges but about adapting and transforming obstacles into opportunities for growth. I’m proud that Sacred Money came through that time stronger, and it’s an experience I draw on when helping my clients navigate their own financial struggles. I remind them that even in the face of adversity, there is always a way forward if you’re willing to be creative and trust in your ability to heal and rebuild.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

A big lesson I had to unlearn was that money always had to come with stress and struggle. Growing up, I witnessed financial tension and the constant narrative that money was hard to earn and even harder to keep. This belief became deeply ingrained in me, and I carried it into adulthood, thinking that in order to be financially successful, I would always have to hustle, sacrifice, and experience burnout.

The turning point came when I started Sacred Money. I realized that this scarcity mindset wasn’t serving me or my clients. I began to embrace a new belief: that money could flow with ease, that it could be pleasurable, and that it didn’t have to come with a heavy emotional burden. This shift was transformative, not only for my personal relationship with money but also in how I approached my work. I started to weave money healing into my services, helping clients release the old narratives they carried and step into a place of ease and abundance.

Unlearning this lesson didn’t happen overnight, but once I allowed myself to release the idea that money had to be a source of stress, everything changed. It’s now a core part of what I teach: that money can support a life of alignment, pleasure, and peace. It doesn’t have to come from struggle—it can come from flow.
