Alright, Karen thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Any thoughts around creating more inclusive workplaces?
Creating a more inclusive workplace is essential for fostering a positive and productive environment where ALL feel valued and respected. To achieve this, I encourage open communication and active listening among team members to create a space where everyone feels heard and understood. I get the TEAM together on a weekly basis so we can listen to one another’s needs and concerns because I believe it’s a crucial part of making Kalitans. Everyone’s well-being and success is my ultimate goal,
Additionally I feel these weekly check-ins help me stay informed about my team and makes me make necessary adjustments to improve our productivity.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Well being that I’m naturally very pale, I would go to the tanning beds regularly. A dear Esthetician friends would always educate me on the tanning beds. It wasn’t until she decided to go get a spray tan that I decided I would go along with her and get one myself after she kept hyping it up. The day of my appointment my life changed! I had no clue it was so fast and easy. I was out of the appointment in 20 mins with a great glow and all it took was one session. With tanning beds, you must go a few times to see any results, but with a spray you get results within 20 mins. I came home obsessed with the idea of being bronzed in 20 mins and thought how so I took a course. It was then that I understood the science behind a spray tan. After my training we hit covid and I took that as a sign to open up a yelp page and start accepting clients to home for a spray tan. It was during this time that I discovered I wasn’t completely happy with any of the solutions on the market. I would have to mix a few different sunless solutions to come up with the perfect shade and even then, I was hesitant for reply I would get the next day after texting my clients to see how the tan developed. I was on a mission to create my own sunless brand. After a whole year of research and development Golden Honey Standard Sunless Solution was born in June 2022. This was a big year for Kalitans as I also decided ok It’s time to get everyone out of my home and into a studio! I rented space from a few salons gained more clients and in 2023 decided it was time for me to have my own space. I couldn’t be happier. I have a couple of spray tan artists working under Kalitans and this journey so far has been amazing. 2023 was an amazing year for Kalitans as well, we started competition body building group tanning. We have traveled to San Diego, Chicago, Las Vegas and El Segundo for shows. We are very excited for 2024.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Our product and Customer service at Kalitans is overall the reason why clients come back for more.
Providing excellent customer service sets us apart from anyone else. Which has
lead to increased customer loyalty and positive word-of-mouth referrals.
When customers feel valued and well taken care of, they are more likely to return for future purchases and recommend Kalitans to others.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Word of mouth has been the best way I’ve been growing. By providing clients with what they want and providing excellent customer service clients have not only been coming back, but have been sharing their experience to their friends and family and that’s largely where our growth has come from.
