We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Karen Cooper a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Karen thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
God gave me a vision to write my story and make it plain. My story was of hurt and healing. I became transparent to share some of the most painful experiences in my life in hopes of helping others to understand what happens when we make the conscious decision to release everything over to God. Because I was unsure of how my audience would receive me. Having doubts of myself worth, I felt like I was taking a risk of not being heard from a positive view. I was about to release the world into my life of stories never been told or spoken of.
Once I remembered who gave me the vision, I knew if God was for me who can be against me. We serve a God of love, of healing, and of second chances. No matter what we go through, and no matter how many times we fall, God is still God, and He is able to deliver us out of our pain and longsuffering.
My risk I felt I was taken, was well worth it. By opening up and sharing my personal journey, my prayer was that someone will be blessed, that someone will be strengthened, and that someone will be delivered.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Karen Stephens Cooper. God has allowed me to survive through the storms, rise above circumstances and situations so that I can share my testimonies. Testimonies of faith, love and peace. I come to give you words of encouragement, truth and hope. I share my life journey to let you know you are never alone.
I was born and raised in Savannah, Ga. I’m a single parent of two adult daughters. I’m an accounting administrator with over 30 years of experience. I love to write and encourage others to live their best lives. Living a healthier life spiritually, mentally, and physically.
I’m an author, and I currently have two published books. My first book was published April 2018 “Healing For the Hurting. I released my second book December 2020 “Thirty-One Days of Grace”. I’m currently working on my third book. My books have been a success because my prayers were answered. My readers expressed their heartfelt thank you for the blessings they received through my writings. These were proud and grateful moments for me, for this was my prayer.
I write to spread the love of God. Your faith lies in all you believe. Believe in your heart that you have the victory because your end has already been foretold. Give God the praise for all things and in all things praise God. Your heart is the core of your very existence. God lives within.
My daily prayer is always asking God to show me where I’m needed, in order for Him to get the Glory. Allow me to shower His love among His children knowing the Glory belongs to Him. Use me, this imperfect being to spread His love by doing what He has call all of us to do. Love one another.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal in sharing my stories, life lessons, and words of encouragement is to be a blessing to someone. I come to shower you with the love of God, truth and hope. My mission is to continue to write and be that positive force for someone. As a writer there are moments where I can’t write, just think. Then there are moments where I just can’t stop writing. My thoughts and pen are flowing. This is where my creative juices are flowing, and God is moving. My pen is my friend, and my thoughts are productive.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me the most rewarding aspect of being an author is being able to reach others near and far. Hearing the good news of someone being blessed by the words I have written. My heart become overwhelmed with joy and my praise and honor is given to God.
