We recently connected with Karen Cohen and have shared our conversation below.
Karen, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you recount a time when the advice you provided to a client was really spot on? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
Good Health is obtain through balanced eating and a healthy lifestyle.
When an individual makes an appointment with me that means they need help and are totally ready to make a lifestyle change. This is where I excel. I educate, guide, motivate and encourage.
Knowing, that you are accountable to someone makes a huge difference in the success in changing your lifestyle. Many people are successful in their personal and business lives. However, they feel that they are out of control when it comes to knowing What, when and how much to eat.
Many of the results I experience with my clients are the following:
Weight loss
Gained muscle and reduced body fat.
Improved Digestion
Less bloating
Reduce Inflammation
More energy and better concentration.
Less pain in the joints and muscles
Less cravings or binge eating.
Improved sleeping
Better lab results.
Enjoying life
More confident
Exercising will become part of your life
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Before becoming a nutritionist I never exercised (not even walked) I worked and took care of my family.
I am now PROUD to say I am healthy, maintaining a normal weight, reduced inflammation and converted some of my body fat to lean muscle. I walked 2 full marathons and 8 half marathons.
My life changed and I want to help you do the same!
In my private practice I have a BioImpedence machine which is not invasive. This tool is used to check your cell health, hydration level, number of calories burn at rest and body fat to lean muscle. I am able to build a healthy balanced food plan based on your calories burned at rest and current physical exercise. We will spend time together talking about you and your goals. I am not a cookie cutter nutritionist giving you a sheet of paper and off you go. After the first session you will have a customized plan and motived to make a change.
During the pandemic I saw seniors with weaken immune systems die. I decided to expand my education and became a Certified Senior Nutrition Specialist.
No matter what your age is, it is never too late to change your lifestyle and become a healthier you!
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
These are the skills I believe make me successful.
Listening
Connecting
Compassion
Understanding a person’s needs
Able to motivate and encourage
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Absolutely! By becoming a Certified Nutritionist I changed my life.
This is why I can connect so well with my clients.
I can find a way to relate to all my clients.
