We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Karan Mittal. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Karan below.
Alright, Karan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Have you ever had an amazing boss, mentor or leader leading you? Can you us a story or anecdote that helps illustrate why this person was such a great leader and the impact they had on you or their team?
My Current boss Chef Sujan Sarkar is the best Boss I’ve ever worked for. He is a true symbol of excellence and perfection. The way he passes on his wisdom of knowledge and wealth of experience to encourage the growth of young professionals is incredible. There’s a lot to learn from him, especially the way he handles stressful situations and how he motivates the team.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I was always a hungry kid. I didn’t want to be a chef when I was in high school. I was a topper in my batch. I started cooking by accident, and it just turned into a passion. It was a difficult situation to persuade my family to go for hotel management since it wasn’t considered to be a noble profession few years ago. But my parents supported me along the way and I’m very proud to have worked in so many countries and bagged so many awards and recognitions.
I am most passionate about Indian food and bringing the old age traditions and diversity of Indian culture to the world. I strongly believe that the deep rooted cuisine of India is one of the best intricate in the world. I am very honoured to represent my heritage through my food. Our work combines the traditional indian dishes with modern touch, innovational ideas and seasonal ingredients.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
ROOTS. I think the biggest strength has been sticking to our Indian Roots and portraying it to the world in a very pure manner. That’s the basis of our reputation of Representing Indian cuisine in a foreign land. We stick to the authentic recipes of our diverse culture and stick to our humble roots

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
KEEPING IT SIMPLE I started my social media presence few years back. I started posting simple dishes that we cook at home and started to engage with the followers. That really helped me click with audience. I often share my non-food philosophies of life that help people to understand me better.
The entire point is to be consistent and relevant with the audience.
