We were lucky to catch up with Kanika Bradshaw recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kanika, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Is there a lesson you learned in school that’s stuck with you and has meaningfully impacted your journey?
The School of Life has been my greatest teacher.
Along the way, I’ve collected some priceless lessons that continue to guide me:
Integrity is everything.
Who you are when everyone’s watching matters — but who you are when no one is looking matters even more. True character is revealed in silence.
Faith starts within.
I don’t expect anyone else to believe in my dreams — they were given to me. God entrusted me to cultivate them: to plant the seeds, water them with faith, and grow them with purpose.
Grit over glamour.
I love to look good, but if the mission calls for me to pull my hair back and take off my nails to get it done — I’ll do it without hesitation, without permission, and without apology.
Protect your time.
Saying no is a form of self-respect and a reflection of discernment. Not every opportunity or relationship aligns with who I am or where I’m headed — and that’s okay. Doing something just for the money? That’s not in my DNA.
Lead with grace, guided by wisdom.
Everyone is going through something. Be kind, but not naive. Be discerning, but not closed off. Extend grace — because one day, you’ll need it too.
Never forget who I am, who raised me, and where I come from.
I’m never above being corrected. I value accountability. I take ownership of my actions, my choices, and my journey — always.
These are the truths I carry with me. Life keeps teaching — and I intend to keep learning.

Kanika, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born and raised in Opa-Locka, Florida (Bunche Park) — the eldest of my mother’s three children and my father’s only child. Both my maternal and paternal grandmothers, along with my aunts on both sides, played pivotal roles in raising me. I come from large families made up of strong Bahamian and South Georgia women — which is exactly why I am a strong woman myself.
I’ve lived in Atlanta for over 10 years now. Before entering real estate, I worked as an EMT-Paramedic, earned my Firefighter certification, and served in EMS for 13 years. I later transitioned into nursing and became an ER Travel Nurse, which I did for nearly a decade.
As a child, I initially wanted to become an interior designer. While working as a nurse, I realized that becoming a nurse practitioner wasn’t my path. I still loved interior design — but along the way, I also became more curious about real estate investing. Eventually, I figured I could combine both passions by becoming a Realtor.
I got my real estate license in 2019 and started in residential real estate under the mentorship of Ms. Angel Crayton at 14th & Luxe Realty.
I love my family at 14th & Luxe — they nurtured my foundation — however, I knew I needed to be at an all-commercial firm in order to truly elevate my career.
I stayed in residential for three years before an opportunity opened up to join a commercial division within another residential firm I was with at the time. That division didn’t last long, but I remained committed to learning and pursuing commercial real estate independently.
Through the mentorship program with the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, I was introduced to my current broker, Edie Weintraub, at Terra Alma — and I absolutely love it here!
Being at Terra Alma is a true example of being in the right environment. We’re a female-owned, all-female commercial real estate advisory firm in Atlanta. My lane within the firm is Net Lease Investment Sales and Business Brokerage. I work with business owners and investors looking to buy or sell commercial real estate or established businesses. While I still handle some leasing, my primary focus is investment sales.
My people are beautypreneurs, wellness professionals, holistic medicine doctors, fitness studio owners, smoothie and juice bar operators, healthy food and beverage entrepreneurs, and essential service providers like HVAC and laundromat owners. I help them identify investments that build community impact and generational wealth — and I also support them in creating strategic exit plans when they’re ready to sell and step into their next chapter.
No matter what, I believe in ownership.
Working with me is where capital meets care — and problems get solved.
What I’m most proud of is stepping out on faith and doing something no one in my family had seen or done before. I love helping people who want to help themselves. Commercial real estate is a powerful vehicle, and I’m honored to help my clients — and now, my family and friends — use it to build legacy and create lasting impact.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
For me, it’s always about connecting with people from a genuine place and truly respecting the foundation of a relationship — not just completing a transaction.
I’m not a shy person at all (lol) — I’ll walk right up, start a conversation, and take the time to truly get to know someone. From there, I naturally become curious about their business. People want to be talked to and heard, not talked at or hit with robotic responses.
Honesty is always my starting point. I’m not in the business of telling people what they want to hear — I tell the truth. Why? Because this is someone’s time, money, and livelihood we’re dealing with, and I take that seriously.
My clients know I treat their business as if it were my own. It’s no different than when I was an ER nurse — I was responsible for someone’s life: their mother, their sister, their husband. Now, as their broker, I carry that same level of responsibility — to have honest conversations, to operate with integrity, and to lead from a place of care and truth.
Because of that, they trust me — and they trust whoever they send my way.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Honestly? I’m still figuring that out (lol). I’m such a “get-the-work-done” kind of person that I often get laser-focused on my clients and deals… and my social media ends up taking a back seat (hands covering eyes).
My friends in real estate and I have had so many conversations about this. What I’ve realized is that I needed to figure out which platform actually fits me — because once I enjoy it, I know I’ll be more consistent.
That said, I love Threads! It feels more like a real conversation, without all the pressure of angles, filters, or performance. I’m definitely focused on growing my presence there.
One thing about me — I’m not going to post just to post. I tend to overthink (especially when it comes to social media), but I’m okay with that. I want my content to reflect who I really am — not some cookie-cutter version of what everyone else is doing. That’s just not me.
I did say that in 2026, I’d be more intentional with my Instagram, Threads, and LinkedIn. So check back with me next year — I just might be a content queen by then (lol).
