We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kangela Guerrero. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kangela below.
Alright, Kangela thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Has your work ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized?
My work has always been misunderstood and mischaracterized. Having such a unique path causes many individuals to raise questions, one of the biggest questions being “how is it possible you can do all of this?”. Juggling an academic career in clinical counseling, on top of modeling and content creation, followed by radio and broadcasting, it’s one big mix that is rarely heard of. But the reason is that society is constantly showing us and telling us only to choose one path or explore only one passion, when in reality, there is no rule book that says it has to be this way. I believe that my story and success can serve as an example for other young people to be pioneers in their lives and communities, venturing towards multiple goals or dreams and striving for greatness in as many areas of life as they choose. The possibilities are endless, and we only get one shot at life. We might as well live it to the fullest and take every opportunity that comes our way.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a NJ-based Content Creator, Entertainment Host, and Radio Personality, also currently pursuing my masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. With my platforms, I strive to set an example of being a pioneer and not being afraid to take a more unique path! I do this by just documenting my life, little snippets of it, whether it’s fashion, lifestyle, beauty, wellness, or more! What I am most proud of is hearing from followers that I have been an inspiration and a token of motivation for others to pursue their goals and dreams. I can only hope that my audience continues to grow in the near future so the chain of positivity and inspiration continues to expand to new heights. We all need that person to look up to or to cheer us on when the going gets tough. Being that person for others is what I strive to do, whether it’s in the Psychology field or the Entertainment Industry.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
This is such a great question! For me, it would have to be the documentary “The Secret”. I vividly remember watching it in the spring of 2020, right before I fully took my social media and academic career to the next level. The Secret focuses on manifestation and the science behind the art of attraction. It’s a resource that has changed my entire perspective on life and has been a huge influence on my adulthood so far.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I think the best thing that society can do is to cut the stereotypes and assumptions. To this day, in 2025, we still hear the phrases “that’s impossible” or “some things cannot change,” and little comments like this can bring someone down. As I stated previously, having a unique path is something I have learned to embrace. I’ll be honest, it has been a lonely ride, but I am now starting to see the reward of it. From interviews, to being invited to some of the top networking events, and even hearing positive feedback from the next generation that they are inspired! I got to this point by not listening to society’s negative stereotypes and not letting society put me in a little box. We need to start letting the next generation of artists and changemakers make their own mark on their own grounds. Life is not picture perfect, and no journey to success is. But we should embrace that, find the beauty in it, and trust the process.
