Hi Kanesha , thanks for joining us today. The more we talk about good leadership the more we think good leadership practices will spread and so we’d love for you to tell us a story about the best boss you’ve had and what they were like or what they did that was so great?

The best boss I ever had was the previous owner of 9Round Decatur. I learned how to communicate effectively and also professionally with customers and employees. The key to being a great leader in business is to practice what you preach.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My legal business is Changes 4 Your Lifestyle, LLC. I have been with the 9Round franchise since 2013. I started as a trainer and then bought the franchise in 2017. I have been an active Certified Health & Fitness Instructor for over 20 years. At 9Round Decatur we are helping the members push more toward excellence so they can do things they couldn’t when they started initially. We are educating and helping members understand the importance of a health and fitness routine. I am most proud that we have been able to sustain and continue our business during the highs and lows of the COVID-19 pandemic.

What continues to help our reputation within our market is referred business from our current and even previous members. We call that Word Of Mouth. When people know they can rely on a great experience every single time, they are more inclined to do business with you.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

The COVID-19 pandemic was the reason a lot of business had to close shop. Being a witness to many small businesses around me close was a scary time as a business owner. During the time we were forced to close, I personally emailed and also sent text messages all 200 plus members and offered them a lower rate if they would agree to continue paying for memberships. We also were able to offer new online workouts in an effort to help members stay on track with fitness goals. 9Round is definitely 1 big family so we were able to hold on to most of our paying customers.
