We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kandy Parker a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kandy , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
When Covid 19 came into play I was teaching Prek and had currently been out of work due to schools shutting down. In that time I had a business idea that I’ve always wanted to do since my mother passed in 2017. A lot of the health methods I used for her while she was sick I wanted to help other get well and feel comfort in there skin. One night I made business plan and decide to implement my detox waters with the kp touch. I made a post of Facebook and love and support was so tremendous my idea took off and was able to help a lot of people health wise, emotionally, mentally and physically. I felt like when I stepped on the scene I offered something different and effective and it was made with love and compassion. Hence Detox Waters By KP stands for Kandy and Penny in legacy of my late mother who was all about health and wellness. What got me most excited about sharing my vision was being able to allow people to not only want to be healthy but to grow and flourish at their own rate on their own time.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Background/ Foundation
Back in 1997 my mother was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis which is a disease that can attack your lungs, skin, weight, eyes and other things. She didn’t share the extent of her condition until I was a Senior in high school. I researched so much so I could understand exactly what was going on with her and how to help her without making her feel helpless. In the beginning of 2008 her lung collapsed which sent me and my sister into a serious panic because the thought of our mother being in pain was awful. My sister was about to graduate high school. Fast forward to 2016 my mom had been in remission since 2009 and was in good health until 2016 when it came back and attacked her to the point she would need a personal aid and hospice care. I would go see my mom on my lunch breaks and go spend the night with her where we would play around with different ingredients to see what would help her flush out bad stuff and help get back to herself. My mom had to change her first after being diagnosed so she was strictly vegetarian and lived in earth fare, organic markets and etc. One I told her since you have to stay hydrated why don’t we try detoxing you out so you can have some strength and still get all your nutrients and she ended up liking what I made as I did hers. I wanted to do a business with my mom but we never got the chance to. And after she passed I lost all my goals, ambitions, dreams and just everything. I had lost my WORLD. My mommy was literally my best friend. After she passed I occasionally experimented in making different waters just because and wrote out a plan but never went through with it. So one day I got off my butt enrolled myself back in school to get my Bachelors degree which I will be graduating with in November. And late one night I took all out recipes and thoughts and put it together and said you know what I’m going to do for it. I’m launching #DETOXWATERSBYKP♥️. Long as my mom and God on my side I’ll be good. I currently have 12 combinations with 4 more and shots coming in May. In honor of my mommy and her being a SARCOIDOSIS WARRIOR I blended all her favorite fruits and it’s the Legacy Detox “PENNY PETALS💜”. So now I want to build and brand out vision and not only leave a legacy to my children as well as my niece and nephew but to help and heal others in the process by allowing them to feel
good about themselves while feeling refreshed.
