We were lucky to catch up with Kandra Kolour recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kandra, thanks for joining us today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
I one hundred percent wish I had started my business sooner. I feel like I was more optimistic ,at age 18-21 I was eager for something but I didn’t have the direction. Creating things became natural for me early on in my childhood. Giving my Dolly’s makeover’s ,rearranging mom’s living room , I remember beings very young and cutting my brother’s hair in his sleep lol. A real Creative it was my life so I knew I’d be doing it forever. So Makeup Artistry Came after the Birth of my first born daughter around 2012, I was a warehouse worker and a Mary Kay Consultant. It’s like the birth of my child turned on a light bulb in my mind. Kulture Kolour was born. If I had figured out what I wanted to do before I could have established a reputation and gave it 100% but with a child and responsibilities you must balance everything and with balance comes time. Yet at the same time I started humbly and remain that way so it works

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I’m always interacting with my clients via social media, showing up to there events all type of ways.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Making a decision to get into media didn’t come overnight. If talked about it for years, cared how people would receive me but I had to remember this is something I have to do for me and for those who will receive it. I started, and I loved it so a new journey begins.
