We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kandiee Campbell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kandiee below.
Kandiee, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I took the risk of having a nationally syndicated radio show called “Awaken Hope” on Brushwood Media Network. I decided to do it even though I had no clue as to how to host a radio show or what I was doing. I started in July 2023. When they pulled my number in August, I thought I would have a few thousand listeners, I had 493,875. To date I have 1,050,606 as of January 2024. I am excited I decided to take this opportunity and I took a chance. It is an incredible experience.

Kandiee, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a transformational therapist who helps people with healing loss, anxiety, and fears by learning to love oneself and embodying peace, joy and resiliency. I work with my clients one on one to teach them tools and strategies that can help them to navigate life and its challenges. I work to help the client get to the core issue of many if not all of their issues that they struggle with. my website is www.theawakenhopeshow.com. I am also a certified Happy for No Reason trainer.
I also have a Nationally syndicated radio show called “Awaken Hope.”. My radio show is on Brushwood Media Network or anywhere apple is located. I teach the listeners the tools that my clients receive. This is for the people who for whatever reason choose not to go to therapy. I have over 1 million listeners to date and my numbers are increasing.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Imagine being a 3-year-old little girl and your mom consistently coming to you to share all her adult problems. She never tells you it is not your issue to fix nor your problem to solve. This is something I had to deal with from the early age of three. I became the sounding board for my mother because her and my father did not have good communication skills. This went on for decades and began to impact my childhood, my adolescent years as well as my adulthood. I did not learn that my needs were important, and I viewed my mother’s needs as mine. This is not a healthy perspective. I learned to suppress my needs and wants and stuffed all the emotion that I was feeling because of being my mom’s sounding board. This enabled me to become a walking, talking volcano. At 16 the emotion began to surface, and it was the beginning of my need to release all I had taken in from age 3. This anger I was experiencing impacted my life with my children. I finally got the wake up call I needed when my youngest son would go around telling people “My mommy kicked a hole in the wall” I decided at that moment I needed to figure out what was wrong and what I could do to fix it. Long story short I began a journey of healing and began to learn and understand my 3-year-old self was wounded and needed to feel protected as well as healing. I began that journey of healing and co-authored a book with Jack Canfield and even got the opportunity to host my very own nationally syndicated radio show called “Awaken Hope”. I am still a work in progress, but I have come so far from where I was fifty years ago.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
Yes, I would choose the same profession. My why is to make an impact on people’s lives. Even if I just impact one person, I have accomplished a lot.
