We were lucky to catch up with Kamsa Thephavong recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kamsa, appreciate you joining us today. Do you manage your own social media?
I personally handle a lot of social media, but my agency has a team of 50 independent contractors who are experts in their respective fields. As a full-service digital marketing company, we offer a wide range of services to our clients, and having six social media managers (and counting) has been incredibly helpful. Currently, we manage over 40 business pages per month, and this number continues to grow.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe that the most effective way to establish a good reputation in my industry is by networking and meeting business owners face-to-face. While social media is also helpful in attracting new clients, in-person interactions have always yielded the best results for me. I am currently a member of three different Chambers of Commerce here in Iowa, and I was also a member of the Wichita Chamber when I lived there in 2017.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
To be honest, managing a team of 50 is a lot of work. As the boss, I am always on the lookout for new clients to assist on a daily basis. The nice part about having a team is that I have team leaders in six different cities across six different states, as well as salespeople who are paid on commission only. Without my team, it would be very difficult to get projects completed on time.
I always emphasize to my team the importance of maintaining a 5-star rating for our agency and striving for excellence in their work with our clients.
