Kam’ron, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
I’ve thought about this question a lot recently. I always knew when I younger I wanted to leave my mark on the world but I really never thought that would lead me to being an artist. When I started my journey in being an artist I had no idea about the business or how to really get into it so looking back know I think if I would have started out so young I would have been a easier target to be taking advantage of. So taking my time to really figure out if this was my true passion, I didn’t really start acting until I was a senior in high school and that was just me taking classes on my own until I graduated and attended NYCDA to really dive into to my craft. So looking back own when I could have started and were I did start. I feel like I made the right choice in starting at the time I did.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into to the industry by being in a talent competition. It was my senior year of high school and I was really ready to be on the big screen. Well it didn’t go exactly how I planned. Instead of being signed to some big talent agency like I thought I was the only people that reach out to me was NYCDA. Knowing I had never really thought about going to a performing arts college I almost turned it down which would have been a huge mistake. In those two years at school it really made me think hard and long if I wanted to be in this industry but after that first year I was locked in, seeing how when you actually bring a character to life the affect it has on the people watching made me fall in love with acting. I do this so people that look like me see representation and can see themselves when they watch me up on the screen playing some of their favorite characters. I want non-binary kids to see that if you chase your dreams no matter what people say you can make it a reality. I became an actor not just for the fame and glory but for the way I can change just one person life or day after they see me on their screen.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
One mission that drive me on my creative journey is making my parents proud. With everything they have done for me and sacrifice for me and my little brother. Making them proud is what drives me more than anything.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I know it may sound crazy but the act of war has really impacted the way I move throughout my career. If you look at it the entertainment industry can be seen as a battle and have the battle strategy can make or break your career.
