We recently connected with Kamron Perry and have shared our conversation below.
Kamron, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think it takes consistency, the level of consistency that makes you uncomfortable. Due to you actually working hard.
Kamron, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Kamron Perry better known as “Executive Kam” primarily a PR but I’m also a music journalists and graphic designer. I was introduced to the thought of being an exec in the music industry when I was originally an artist by my mentor Daryn Radcliff. In the midst of looking for some advice about what I should be looking to do next with my music career. Which quickly translated into him teaching me everything he knows about the business and peaked my interest in regards to what I could achieve on my own working with artist. Now as I’ve progressed in this field of work I provide services at affordable rates such as (show booking, social media rebranding, EPKS, graphic designing and rollouts for singles and projects). What sets me apart from others? What do I want my followers to know about me? That’s easy, I want them to know that I’m big on energy and that I can’t work with others if the energy isn’t right. So in other words I’m not working for the dollar.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been curated playlist. Apple Music, Spotify, Soundcloud etc. Of underground artist that are very talented that simply just don’t have the right tools to take the next step.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I actually have a few. Rethinking Reputation By Fraser P. Seitel & John Doorley, Lucky Me By Rich Paul, All Things You Need To Know About The Music Business 10th edition By Donald S. Passman. These have definitely shaped the way I do business outside of things I learned in the field.
