We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kamisha Young. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kamisha below.
Kamisha , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
Live the Vision started with my personal journey of self development and growth. There was a time earlier on in my life where I wanted to live the “American Dream” to me that meant getting a college degree then climbing the ladder in corporate America and becoming the CEO of a large Fortune 500 company. While I was blessed to obtain my bachelor’s degree and began working for some great companies, I grew and developed as a person, especially on a spiritual level and that changed my vision for what I desired out of life. Things I use to aspire I no longer aspired to do and on the other side of that, there were things I never had an interest in prior that became priorities for me. In 2020 during the pandemic, I was working a job in management for a multi-million dollar company and I began to see that I had a much greater vision for myself and for others. I desired to help people achieve their goals and walk into their purpose. I would be on the job and people would be seeking out guidance, counsel, and advice from me to help them both personally and professionally. I began to see people differently, looking at their destinies, their purpose and helping them get aligned with their best self. Everything about me started changing by the day. The way I spoke, how I did business, was shifting. I stopped trying to climb the ladder of my corporate job and had a fire inside of me to start my own company so I can use what was in me on a greater level. Instead of desiring to “live the dream” I now wanted to live out the vision God had given me for my life. That’s where the name Live the Vision came from. I launched the business in May of 2021 having an overall vision of what I wanted to provide for others. I took the steps to become a certified executive coach, I started outlining my business model and plan completely form the guidance of God. I then set dates for our first private workshop and the rest is history. Live the Vision offers Private Elite Coaching, Workshops, Conferences, and online digital resources to help people form all walks of life achieve optimal results. Our brand commitments are Clarity. Confidence. and Excellence. That is the experience you will have when working with Live the Vision (LTV)

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What has helped grow our reputation with our market is authenticity. I believe that a brand and business is much more than a nice looking website, a logo, and business cards. Being the owner of my business, I am a walking representation of my brand and I hold that to a high standard. When I’m working out, handing personal business, at the nail salon, attending an event, I am representing Live the Vision. As business owners, all of our interactions personally and professional reflect our brand. I believe in living an authentic life everywhere I go in all that I do. That’s first and foremost. When people know they can rely on me as a person: knowing I do what I say I will do, I show up, and come on time, I support and stand behind people in my network, then it makes it easy to get others to trust me on a professional level. When we first launched I attended a large networking even and we had only been around a few months. Introduced myself an attendee and she said “ohh you’re Live the Vision owner, I absolutely love your brand and It’s even better see you represent that in person” as I new business owner that meant so much to me. I don’t have to be known but I want our brand to be consistent with our message.
Our supporters have also helped with building our reputation and our reach. We are company that serves amazing people. People who are particular about where their money goes, and the experiences that they get. As a result, our customers share our products with their friends and network, recommend us and refer us to people all the time. We get contacted about our sessions and people come seeking solutions. We appreciate our clients because they drive our repeat business.
Each time I have had a personal coaching, treating that one client in front of me like they are the most important person goes a long way. I value my client’s trust. I value the fact that they want me to be apart of their development. When I host a conference, I care about what attendees leave with. What information they have been given to help them overcome, excellence, and walk forward.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
In 2020 I was planning to host a conference called “The Best Life Summit” Next Level Living. I began planning at the end of 2019, located the venue, the perfect location, sought out amazing speakers, and prepared the entire line-up of this day long event. Little did we all know 2020 would bring the pandemic which consisted of lockdown, quarantine, and the cancellation of many live events. During this time I continued planning the Summit. I was aware of the times were were in but I did not fear or feel the need to cancel our summit. I remember months leading up the conference, people were asking me if I was still having it and I kept saying “yes, as of now it’s still happening” I was forecasting, even praying about it, communicating with our venue, vendors, people were still signing up and businesses were on board.
I vividly remember two weeks before the Summit when a lot of events took place and it looked like they were “falling apart” Some people I had on the line up began to cancel, the team I had set to sing backed out and couldn’t attend. Another person that was scheduled to open the conference canceled. a speaker I scheduled from out of town contracted Covid-19 and regretfully had to cancel. I got so discouraged for about a week. I remember feeling like I was now doing this alone, but I would soon experience the power of faith and commitment to your vision. Support started coming out of nowhere, the venue wanted to host my conference so much to the point that they discounted my space by 75%. That was unheard of with this business and location, but we had built a great relationship and they were pushing for me to continue with the event.
A few days before the event, one of our business sponsors contacted me and said they wanted to increase their sponsorship amount by 50%. No only were they showing up but they wanted to give more to the cause, this really ignited me to continue on with the conference and not focus on who wasn’t coming but to use the drive and determination to serve those who would be in the room. That’s a business key, to be successful the focus should never be on the lack of support but more on the people who really need what you have to offer.
I ended up having a powerful and impactful conference that year with profitable outcomes, sponsorships from local businesses, met new clients, friends, and supporters. The moments that stood out to me most was having a business owner I had never met thank me with tears in his eyes for not canceling the conference. He said that sitting in the room and hearing the information helped him to continue in showing up for his business in the midst of such an uncertain time. Another attendee told me that because of the conference, she was inspired to start a business idea had put down some time ago. I also learned that people got hired by a company that attended the conference. We hosted this conference at a well known hotel and the workers said how the music and the atmosphere drew them as they were working on the floor of the conference. They said they were moved by it all. So many positives and possibilities took place and it’s one decision in my business I am so glad I made. The fulfillment that I had was priceless. I felt like the world’s most successful business not because of the profit, because it wasn’t much but because of the impact it gave to others. No matter what the odds look like, when you trust what you know, you will be successful and effective in the end. Your business is not for you but for those who need what you have. We have around now for three years and the mission is still the same, although the clientele and the reach is growing, we will not go away from our original commitment: Clarity. Confidence. Excellence. It’s who we are and what we will continue to give to our future clients.
Thank you so much for having me, it has been a pleasure sharing with you!
