We recently connected with Kamille Gilmore and have shared our conversation below.
Kamille , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
After graduating college, my life took an unexpected turn. Just as I was preparing to start my journey as a new wife and soon-to-be mother, I was struck by a drunk driver while nine months pregnant. In an instant, what should have been the beginning of a bright future was halted by broken bones and shattered dreams.
The accident left me with a permanent 25% loss of function in my right hand, making a traditional office job no longer an option. Faced with the challenge of starting over, I chose to follow my passion. I founded a dance school dedicated to serving underprivileged children, offering high-quality instruction at a price families could afford.
As part of my physical and emotional healing, I also took up roller skating—which quickly became more than just therapy.
Twenty years later, that journey has taken me farther than I could have ever imagined. I’ve had the honor of becoming a celebrity choreographer and professional roller skater, even performing on one of the world’s biggest stages: the Super Bowl.
Through it all, I’ve learned that even in the face of tragedy, purpose can be born. God is good.

Kamille , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Kameo Production Studios, LLC is the heart of all of my businesses. It is where my dream to give back was birthed. I have been blessed to be a celebrity choreographer and pro roller skater offering dance, skate, fitness, and entertainment needs internationally for over 20 years. . My studio provides afterschool academy, summer camp, dance, fitness, tumbling, castings, studio rentals, artist development, and audition and college prep. People can follow, find, and support at www.KameoProductionStudios.com and www.KameoRoll.net
What sets me apart from other studios is I have lost over 100 lbs in high school, been hit by a drunk driver 9 months pregnant, learned to walk again twice, and have been told this dream wouldn’t work and 20 years later we are still standing. We have been blessed to send several dancers to college on scholarship, performed on the biggest stages, and are still blessing the community.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The lesson I had to unlearn is don’t allow anyone’s no to deter you from Gods yes! Working with Zoe Saldana on the set of Drumline she taught me that all you need is one yes!! And that’s it!

Have you ever had to pivot?
Yes Covid was tough. I had to be creative. We had virtual classes, taught outdoor, and even taught school virtually. It just showed me that we all have to have multiple streams of income and creativity to keep going no matter what.
