Kameron, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

Project Kartí is a New York City based brand seeking to encourage youth to find their passion and explore it.

The name Karti is a spinoff on the well known rappers name Playboi Carti.

I consider this brand to be a ‘project’ solely because projects are a way to show off your creativity and originality. Many people struggle with self-expression, and one way I have learned to express myself is through clothing and designing. (Which implies the Project in the brands name)

My brand offers many different designs as well. Ranging from out of this world designs and designs that contain topics that most people ignore or keep locked in their mind.
My recent drop Fake From The Jump is a prime example. In this drop, we can see in the heart all the things that are deemed fake or no genuine in the world.

This brand will be an everlasting project, a project that can help show the world that we are all gifted, we just need to find that gift and exploit it.

Kameron, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I got into this at the end of 2020. I got into clothing because of the simple fact that everyone was wearing the same brands there was no originality. So in short I decided to make my own style of fashion be known and seen.

At first I would go on websites that can create shirts and other clothing for me as a mock-up. At the time I thought it was great. But after a little bit of time I noticed that this was not my best work. After that I started drawing designs. Which I then knew that I did the right thing. The internet gives you the most common and basic designs. The best designs a person can make come truly from the mind and experiences of the individual.

The main thing that separates me from others is the fact that I don’t follow trends. I make what I feel is gonna have the most impact and attract others to be interested in not just the clothes but the story and idea of a design.

I am most proud of my ability to create. Since 5the end of 2020. I have made many designs. And the craft of each design gets better as time goes on.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

The best source of me clients/customers would be going to vendor events. The reason why is because I get to meet different people and other business. Gain insight and make adjustments to help better my business.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

When starting my business I knew off rip I couldn’t just make it happen without funds. When getting ready to drop a product I co duly with my manufacturer to get a price of how much my bulk order will cost. After that I start working on saving money from my regular job to fund the brand.
