Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kalyn Bell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kalyn, appreciate you joining us today. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.
In late 2021, I established my very own marketing agency. With a strong focus on branding, design, social media management, ads, UGC, and content creation. To spread the word about my services, I utilized social media, created a captivating website, and relied on the support of friends and family. Shortly after launching my agency, I received a phone call from an esthetician I used to visit. This was a turning point for both of us.
It was a perfect moment when the esthetician, who was looking to launch her own spa called Rose Aesthetics, reached out to me seeking assistance with all things marketing. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. It was an opportunity for both of us to grow our skills and embark on our entrepreneurial journeys together.
Our collaboration began with the creation of Rose Aesthetics’ website, followed by a meticulous focus on branding. Logos, menus, colors, and fonts were carefully made to establish a cohesive and visual brand identity. I firmly believe that branding forms the foundation of any successful marketing endeavor.
“Marketing is like inviting someone to an event, while branding is the reason they choose to attend.”
At the beginning of this year, my attention shifted toward the critical aspect of social media management. This includes Instagram, Tiktok, and Pinterest. Since January, I have been working closely with Rose Aesthetics, involving regular communication and creating remarkable growth across all social platforms. I will be maintaining this effective strategy, my goal is to deliver astounding results by the end of this year.
In my experience, I’ve found that networking proves to be the most effective way of securing valuable clients.
Understanding the unique personalities and operational styles of each client before collaborating with them is important to me. This is why I refrain from cold outreach, as it yields minimal success rates. Personally knowing and connecting with the individuals I work with allows for a stronger foundation and a more beneficial working relationship.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Kalyn. I am 22. I started this business when I was finishing my bachelor’s degree and wanted to pursue an industry I actually enjoy. I HATE sitting at a desk all day working for other people. I knew I wanted to do more and create an amazing company to work for that values its workers.
We focus on running TikTok, Pinterest and Instagram accounts for businesses. We offer a comprehensive range of services that includes running advertisements, creating content, and building brand awareness through branding and UGC content. We understand that social media is often the first impression that a business makes in today’s market, and we are committed to making our clients’ social media presence known.
I am most proud of the results I have seen from my own business platforms and my client’s platforms. We have grown substantially over the past few months and hope to keep the momentum going.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think giving my all and being there for my clients when they need me has built my reputation in the market. I do not limit our communication or goals. Making a point to stay in touch and let them know what we are doing/how it’s performing can be often forgotten when everyone is busy.
I also love to do a lot of networking opportunities. Whether this is showing up on behalf of my clients or on behalf of my own business I never miss an event. Always be on time!
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I love the book atomic habits. It was shown to me by a highly qualified individual in my industry. This book talks about how to change your daily habits and be 1% better every day. The book goes over simple ways to break your old habits and build new ones. It is a great book to take notes over and keep your thoughts written inside. I attached a note from the Atomic Habits book I follow: How to create a good habit:
The 1st law (Cue): Make it obvious.
The 2nd law (Craving): Make it attractive.
The 3rd law (Response): Make it easy.
The 4th law (Reward): Make it satisfying.
How to break a bad habit:
Inversion of the 1st law (Cue): Make it invisible.
Inversion of the 2nd law (Craving): Make it unattractive.
Inversion of the 3rd law (Response): Make it difficult.
Inversion of the 4th law (Reward): Make it unsatisfying.
I also focus on a lot of journal prompts I find to keep the goals I have insight. I think it is easier to accomplish your goals when you consistently see them visually and are reminded every day of why you are working so hard.
