Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kala Williams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Kala thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I chose the path of digital entrepreneurship because I was exposed to a space where people were making millions of dollars from their phone from trading and network marketing. I fell in love with trading and dedicated years to studying and learning the skill. However my passion lies in mental health advocating and helping people. I knew that by mentoring people in trading I could relieve some of their mental stress and expose them to a new way of life and general wealth building. I also decided to create journals, digital content, and affirmation decks for combating mental health issues
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Kala I’m 28 years old and in those 28 years I’ve been through a lot. I’ve loss both of my parents, my child’s father, and my grandmother who raised me since I was 8 years old. The type of pain I’ve endured a lot of people can’t handle. I’ve used my struggles with coping with pain and mental health battles to help others do the same. It’s so easy to go into dark spaces and use unhealthy ways to cope with life so we don’t have to feel it. I embarked on a spiritual journey and really got into my solitude allowing myself to feel and get rid of people, things, and places that no longer served me. Things that were keeping me bound to an outdated version of myself. I started talking about tools and resources that helped me and encouraging others that they can make it out of anything. I got into trading by a cousin telling me about a company she joined. I took that time to learn from some of the top traders in the game and watched them make a lot of money live. I knew that I had to tell everyone I love and wanted to win about it. Some people were skeptical some still are but I just continue to make the results and let people know they have options. Options to heal mentally and options to get in a place of financial stability and general wealth building. Rather it be trading, digital products, or whatever talent or skill they possess or wish to possess. My whole motto is We are the creators of our own reality.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In my trading journey I first joined a company that was part for educating and part network marketing. For a while I only focused on learning but eventually I leaned into the network marketing side as well. I built a team with over 30 people under me. Something happened with my leadership which lead to me leaving the company. I felt bad because I no longer had access to the resources provided or the residual income I was making weekly. After the veil has been removed from your eyes a 9-5 job just won’t cut it for you. So I had to start many side hustles to stay afloat and pay bills while I also focused on learning how to trade on my own. I went to YouTube, books, paid for different mentorship and telegrams groups. Until it came to a point I realized I didn’t need to learn anymore information I just needed to believe in myself and get out of my own way. Imposter syndrome will have us convinced we’re not ready or skilled enough but in reality it’s our belief system that needs to put in place. Once I started trusting myself and started seeing steady profits I was able to quit my side hustles and shortly after I decided to start mentoring others.
We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
For my digital products I utilize Amazon KDP, and Etsy. I love Amazon KDP for my journals because all I have to do is upload the content and Amazon handles all the printing, shipping, and customer service issues. It’s very useful if you’re started out and don’t have the means to print or constantly ship out. I love the low maintenance of it all you just have to find a good marketing strategy which honestly I’m still figuring out as it’s only been a few months. Even more recent is Etsy, I like Etsy for digital products because everyone goes to Etsy for custom products. You get direct traffic from their website and the product is usually links that will be emailed to customers so it’s also low maintenance in the fact you won’t have to print and ship unless you want to add that feature as well. Also you only pay for the ads on etsy if someone clicks on it and you get to set the dollar amount you wish to stop at. I would recommend both platforms and I see a long future ahead with me using them.
