We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kaitlyn Tatum. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kaitlyn below.
Hi Kaitlyn, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
As is my normal style, I just jumped right in! I bought my own tarot deck after doing some research and started reading for myself and my friends. A month or two in I heard about a 2hr crash course that was in the area and I decided to take it. It helped give me some more clarity on how tarot works and also some affirmation of my skills since we all read for each other.
I would definitely recommend pulling a card per day in the beginning. It would have helped me learn a little bit fast as well as build a relationship with my intuition and my deck. Having a good connection to your intuition is one of the most important part of energy work and it even helps in your day to day life. Its an exercise in self trust.
The biggest obstacle to overcome is self doubt. It’s easy to doubt your intuition and say it’s all hogwash, but it’s not. There’s a reason why you feel the way you and it doesn’t always have “hard proof”. But trust it. It’s not going to lead you wrong.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m an Energy Worker! I work with my clients to either understand their energy, change their current energy, or obtain a certain energy that they desire. I also work with their Guides, often referred to as Ancestors, Angels, and Deities, in order to help them on their journey. This can look like Tarot readings for clarity, a Timeline Jump for to embody a new self or a Divine Chat to help them connect and communicate with their guides one-on-one. I also create Ritual items to help you boost your spell work. You can add them to your candles, your manifestation letters or even anoint your body!
While I initially got into Energy Work through Tarot, I also have a few other services as well as Ritual Items to help boost your practice. My current favorite offering is called Timeline Jumping. It’s a juicy embodiment ritual to help you encompass whatever it is you desire. It’s a liminal based practice, which means we work liminal (also known as void) energy that helps you transition from one version of yourself to the next. You can jump for all sorts of reasons, big or small. I’ve helped people become more magnetic, less embarrassed, more timely and more emotionally connected. It’s truly a transformative ritual and I love hearing how people feel in their new selves.
But the product I’m the most proud of is the Divine Chats. I’ve created a visual, guided meditation that allows you to literally meet and speak with your guides. Most of my clients are familiar with divination tools such as tarot, runes or pendulums. But those often leave room for misinterpretation or confusion. This meditation clears all that up and lets you have a real conversation with these energies and receive the support that they need. Clients have seen past loved ones, animal spirits, angels and even their deities during our sessions. Its incredibly uplifting and being in a place of such love and grace often leaves us feeling overwhelmed in the best way. I honestly think that it’s something that everyone should experience at some point in their life.
I run my business as a way to help people. It brings me so much satisfaction to help affirm others in their path in life or to help them have a better experience in this realm. Being a human can be an exhausting adventure, but it’s made easier by having support. All of my offerings aim to help push my clients towards their best and happiest selves. Being able to facilitate them being closer to that and knowing that they trust me to hold space for them is heartwarming.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I feel like we’ve restricted others self-expression far too much. Even as someone who has never spent too much conscious effort on fitting in, I spent a long time trying not to stand out. I wish we were less judgy as a society and actively encouraged people to find their voice and their style. Often, we end up doing the opposite and quell any funky traits or quirks before kids even reach middle school.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Failure is not the end, it’s the beginning. I’ve had failed product launches and empty workshops, but every failure is a new launching point. It’s one step closer to success because it lets me know what not to do. It’s a feedback that feels silent, but you can actually hear if you pay attention. So don’t get discouraged. Just pick yourself up, ask yourself what you can do differently and then do it.
