We were lucky to catch up with Kaitlyn Mitchell recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Kaitlyn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?

When thinking about beginning Lovely Links, I contemplated the idea for a long time. Did I have band with to start my own business? Could I even do it? Did I have what it takes? How much investment would it take both financially and with time? I had seen other permanent jewelry companies and thought it could be a pretty cool thing to do but was there more to what I was seeing? The more I thought and prayed about it, the more I realized the idea wasn’t going away. I felt peace about it so I decided to just go for it despite all the unanswered questions. I began doing research on how to start a small business. I reached out to friends that own small businesses and asked them tons of questions. Then, I began doing research on how others ran their Permanent Jewelry businesses. I joined support groups for others that were in the same business, which is where I gained tremendous much insight. I began purchasing supplies, applying to get a business license and all of the other start up business things. I just dove head in and have figured it out as I have went along in the journey. Looking up a year later, I am no doubt still learning things, but I did it! I launched and it has been a very successful past year for Lovely Links. It’s also been so fun to challenge myself from taking an idea to putting it into reality despite all of the unknowns.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Lovely Links is primarily known for our Permanent Jewelry. We also offer a Charm Bar.

If you are not familiar with Permanent Jewelry, it is a fun and unique experience where each person gets to choose which type of jewelry they would like (bracelet, necklace, or anklet), then pick which type of chain they would like from our collection of 14K Gold Filled or Sterling Silver chains. All chains are custom fit and then get micro welded closed to create a seamless piece of jewelry on each individual.

Our Charm Bar offers the ability to create your very own Charm Necklace or Bracelet. You can choose from our several different chain options as well as from our endless amount of charms.

We travel and partner with different local businesses across the Memphis area by doing Pop Up’s with them. We also love adding a little piece of fun to private events whether it is a party, bridal shower, business event, etc. The best part is that there’s no cost at all to having us come out.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

At Lovely Links, we strive to give everyone the best experience possible. We want them to have a five star experience when they are with us. That ranges from having great customer service to top of the line products to simply just being mindful of people’s time. We think our personable nature, and excellent experience that we provide is what has helped us build the reputation we have.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

I would say the best source of new clients has been word of mouth, partnering with fresh local businesses, going to different markets and social media giveaways!
