We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kaitlyn Andrew a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kaitlyn, thanks for joining us today. If you’re open to it, can you talk to us about the best (or worst) investment you’ve made. What’s the backstory and the relevant context behind why you made the investment
The best investment I have ever made is in my own growth.
Early in my career, I worked for a business owner who valued output above all else—volume, speed, revenue.
After many months of long hard days working to my max capacity, I found a new opportunity and finally resigned. The owner said regretfully, ‘I should have spent more time with you and invested in you.’ This was a confirmation that I was on the right track because all the time I had been there, things were so tight that every moment of my time was deeply invested into the company leaving me drained. Why did it take this person so long to understand what was obvious to me from the beginning? From this moment, I made a commitment to myself that I would never allow anyone to place restrictions on my career development. I found companies that cared more about building and developing me both professionally and as a whole person.
I began attending seminars and seeking out mentors. I surrounded myself with new people and bigger ideas. I traveled and expanded my perspective. I discovered new passions that have now evolved into professional pursuits. I diversified. I became a new version of myself. A better me.
With these investments into my own growth, I have attracted better opportunities and truly caring people who love me deeply and are rooting for me. They want to see me win. They want the best for me.
Shattering limiting beliefs and restrictions others placed onto me and removing their seeds of doubt from my mind that limited my potential enticed me to unlock the next level in marketing, modeling, scuba diving and beyond.
The lesson I learned is to never let anyone limit your growth and expansion. Each of us are here to serve a unique purpose. Finding and fulfilling that by shattering your own limits and reaching for the next level is what gives life meaning. The most powerful investment you can make is in developing yourself fully—because that unlocks everything else.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am also a PADI certified Rescue SCUBA Diver working towards becoming an instructor and planning to launch my own shop in the future. This discipline has taught me focus, adaptability, and a respect for detail—all traits I bring into my work.
By combining strategic marketing, on-camera presence, and an adventurous spirit, I offer a unique and well-rounded perspective to both creative and corporate environments.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Facing criticism gracefully is one of the greatest lessons that built my resilience.
I still remember the first time my artwork was harshly criticized as a child. It crushed me.
Rejection is very real. Often, it is not personal. One of the greatest acting coaches I’ve ever had taught me to focus on the work and not the worry. To maintain professionalism and keep moving forward. Many things are out of our control, focusing on my own mindset, development and growth is key.
Since then, I’ve learned to separate constructive feedback from destructive noise and harsh criticism. We are all our own worst critic. When a client or casting director offers direction or feedback, I take it seriously and grow from it, striving to improve every day. Unsolicited remarks happen— I’ve heard many and learned to consider the source. Is this a person who has validity? What weight does their opinion carry? If there is no real truth in it, I don’t let it penetrate my confidence. I focus on the facts and maintain my own peace.
Resilience is about discerning what deserves your energy—and what doesn’t. I’ve learned to stand in my own worth, even in the face of criticism, and this mindset has allowed me to keep growing in marketing, modeling, and scuba diving—on my own terms.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My reputation in the market is built on consistency, commitment, and creative integrity.
While some people do trust me immediately, I’ve learned that trust in any professional setting—whether marketing, modeling, or creative collaboration—is built over time and through consistent, appropriate behavior and effective communication. Trust is earned. Bringing the right energy with an optimistic attitude, professionalism, consistency, being presentable, respectful and reliable are what make people come back and want to work with you again. I really care about everything I do and that translates into all I do.
The strongest relationships I’ve built in the industry are with those who believed in me early on and gave me the space to bring my full creative self to the table.
I deeply respect and value collaborators who listen intently, stay open to new ideas, and see the beauty in originality.
I live by the mantra ‘the show must go on,’ because I understand the pressure and preparation that goes into any major effort—launching marketing campaigns, preparing a set/stage/runway, and/or planning dives. Being aware of what’s happening around me and remaining curious about what others are building keeps me sharp, relevant, and collaborative.
When I make a commitment, I take it seriously. I plan, communicate, and follow through with intention and energy. I think ahead, show up fully, and give everything I have to each project—and that reputation for showing up and giving 100% is what has made people trust and respect me in the market.
