Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kahlia Meeks. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Kahlia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with a hypothetical question – if it were up to you, what would you change about the school or education system to better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career?
Thank you for posing the question of what I would change about the educational system and how to prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career. There are five specific focuses of change I would execute regarding the educational system (including cultural and ethnic sensitivity which is not expounded upon within this interview). Starting from kindergarten through 12th grade and higher education, I would teach students how to become entrepreneurs versus employees; teach students about credit and debit; teach about money management and budgeting; investing; and teach about saving. The five points of focus are very important components which are neglected within the educational system.
In respect to having a fulfilling life and career, it’s important to act and utilize the components that I previously stated. If the goal and/or objective of the individual students is to be an entrepreneur or employee, the educational system should teach the nuances of both to allow students to make decisions for their life paths. The reasoning is for students to be prepared to have a more fulfilling life as an entrepreneur or as a career-oriented person, because they will have the fundamental basics on how to maneuver in society as a leader of their own business or the businesses of others while living and enjoying life at the same time.
The previously aforesaid five topics involving changing the educational system by teaching students about being entrepreneurs or career-oriented; teaching about credit and debit; teaching about money management and budgeting; teaching about investing; and teaching about savings are monumental teachings to prepare students for inevitable real-world situations for more fulfilling personal lives, entrepreneurial lives and career lives.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I thank you for your interest to know more about me, and I am pleased to share with you and the readers about myself and my brand. I am a motivational teacher/speaker, a para-entrepreneur, self-published author, and certified life coach. I entered my respective industries as a natural born leader, orator, being an individual who knows what I want then executing, and learning to look within before looking at the actions and characters of others with my mind’s eye.
In 2018, I wrote my first book, “Manifest your Destiny: Use Your Personal Growth to Manifest What is Destined for Your Life’s Path.” The book is a tool and power source to positively dominate one’s self. The motive of writing the book was for me to help solve problems with individuals across the globe by enhancing their personal growth and development in order to manifest what is destined for their life’s paths based upon my life experiences, real world experiences and actionable chapters written in the book to achieve the motives of destiny manifestation.
The differentiators between myself and others who provide similar teachings is that I do not operate on opinions; only fact-based information which includes my life experiences and the tools I utilized to self-improve during my personal growth and development journey along with full transparency. Everything that I speak about can be fact checked and there is always a source of confirmation. Additionally, my personal experiences set me apart from others because I’m an individual who handles situations in modes differently from how others handle them for the principle of individualism. I’m most grateful of the fact that the clients and the followers and individuals who I connect with on our journey together is that I’m able to provide positive changes in their lives.
Honorably, I’ve had so many people throughout the years tell me that I have changed their lives for the better through my teachings and their observations of my ways of performance. Positively helping people in multiple capacities is my purpose on this earth and I am passionate about my purpose. Every day I continue to learn so I can lead people the way to an abundantly fulfilling life. I lead them the way to their hearts. I lead them the way to effectively use their minds. I lead them on the path of success. I lead people and show them the way to where they want and need to be in order to have a fruitful life in their mental, love capacities, and in every capacity that is upward and positive so my doctrine can be shared to others. I am invested in legacy.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I am elated to share what lesson I had to unlearn and its backstory with small business owners and creatives so they can learn and gain inspiration from my experiences.
I had to unlearn losing.
Through years of studying myself, circumstances and self-evaluation, I realized that losing and being emotional about losing is a part of ego. I had to unlearn allowing my ego rule my mind and my circumstances. I was accustomed to always winning and being an innate over-achiever until when I was hit with a losing streak, I allowed my emotions to overrule my logic and reasoning.
Some years ago, I had a contract that one of my companies was the incumbent of. When I had to reapply for that contract to win the bid, I lost to a competitor. When I lost the proposed contract, I was upset, confused and felt personally defeated. Because of
those emotions, I took a hiatus from that business. I was so angry about the loss until I forgot about all of the wins in business and in life that I had gained throughout the years.
I was so used to winning in life and during that time, I had a multitude of losing streaks in different areas of my life -not just financially and in business, but my personal life as well. At that point it was mandatory to perform a self-evaluation and say
to myself, “Kahlia, what about losing is making you upset? What is making you lose YOUR SELF when you lose?”
Once I self-assessed, I learned that I had to put my ego in check. In order to get my ego under control, I meditated, prayed, and took action to learn how to appreciate the lessons of ‘loss.’ I also taught myself while learning to get my ego under control was
that whenever I win, I don’t cause emotional damage to myself so I had to grasp the fact that with winning and losing, I must equally glorify both because lessons were born from the wins and the losses. Unlearning during the self-assessment process was an
eye opener for sure!
Learning that ego is self-importance which mediates between the conscious and the unconscious state of mind, I discovered the method on how to utilize my ego positively and aim to operate within my higher state of mental being. By realizing that my ego’s operational system was interfering with my upward progress, I recalibrated my ego and began winning again with appreciation of those wins and the minimized losses. If readers want to learn more from me about how to get their egos under control and unlearn old behaviors, they can reach out to me with the contact information listed in this article.

Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?
All of my ventures and businesses were close to a near death moment because I personally had a near death moment. If you want to know more about my near-death experience(s), contact me and also read an article, published about my journey, on Voyage MIA from October 2021.
In totality, while I was hospitalized, I literally felt my soul leading my body. If the feeling of my soul leaving my body was in relation to the feeling and knowing of dying, that’s the exact feeling I had. I knew I had to pray and regain strength to bounce
back as losing my life was NOT AN OPTION! Firstly, I stayed firm in my faith and personal spiritual system of knowing. Secondly, my family’s love and support kept me alive. My family and I have a lot of work to do together so there was no way I was going to
allow my life to be defeated. I am also here to serve others so leaving the earthly realm before completing my purpose was another matter of no option but to live.
Because of innate and taught resilience, my zest for life, and my operational legacy, I had to push myself and be mentally and physically resilient, because I had to keep everything I worked arduously to attain afloat. Everything that I’ve worked hard to build
from a solid foundation was not going to be affected by my personal near-death experience; or allow my other endeavors to have near death moments as well. I pushed through physically, mentally, and especially spiritually. Even as I partake in this interview,
I am still healing from my near death experience which happened only months ago! My faith never wavered because I knew I was going to overcome my physical illness in order to protect my companies from being ill and collectively have a near death moment as
I am associated with my endeavors.
My takeaways from those near-death moments are to always be passionate about yourself and your objectives in life and in business; be strong in every mental, physical and spiritual aspect; be resilient in everything that comes your way. Following these instructions will prevent you from having near death moments that can potentially overtake you and what you created.
Always command what you know you deserve. Continuously be prepared to overrule any moments that are inevitable or could attempt to cause death in any manner within or out of your control. Never waver in faith and push through to eternally have life.
Lastly, I state, “You will always win when you steer clear of inviting negativity into your life”.
