We were lucky to catch up with Kaeley Wynsma recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kaeley, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Setting up an independent practice is a daunting endeavor. Can you talk to us about what it was like for you – what were some of the main steps, challenges, etc.
Transform Fitness came about 8 years ago. I was working as personal trainer at a big box gym and was frustrated by the red tape that kept me from helping my clients in the way I knew would get them the best results. Me and my business partner at the time started Transform with the focus for helping our members by giving them personalized strength based training, nutrition tips and guidance while building a supportive community
While I have learned a lot in these last 8 years I would tell myself to enjoy the process and focus on the small wins and consistency as just like in fitness building something takes time.
For those getting started follow your passion and know that it will be challenging and frustrating but remember why you choose to start in the first place use that to help you keep pushing
Kaeley, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Kaeley Wynsma I am a Elite Ocr racer and hybrid athlete, mom of three and former collegiate runner and competitive gymnast. I got started as a personal trainer because I have a passion for helping others improve their health and fitness because fitness has made such a positive impact in my life. I also have a family history of heart disease and I wanted to show that consistent simple habits can have a life changing impact.
At Transform Fitness we offer small group strength training, 1 to 1 training, OCR training, online training and nutrition guidance.
Our focus is to help you breakthrough your barriers and ignite your inner athlete. We keep our classes small to give each member the attention they need from proper form to upping and lowering the weight for maximum benefits.
I am most proud of the fact that at transform we have built a community of people that are supportive of each other and share in each other’s success and support each other through the challenging times
Have you ever had to pivot?
In 2020 when the gyms were shut down Our training switched to zoom and I lent the weights to my members so they could workout from home.
I did the workout for each class so everyone could follow along
We will virtual coffee chats and fun challenges to keep motivation and community
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Providing a experience and filling out members needs and showing that we care about them. Getting referrals and recommendations from our members has been our best way to bring in new members
