We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kadijah Essandjo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kadijah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with a fun one – what’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
One thing I agree with that most in my industry doesn’t agree with is, not chasing after people in order to have purpose.
What I mean by this statement is, many believe that purpose is in people; though God can and absolutely will use people for purpose; Ultimately, I have found God to be more reliable than people.
People can change their minds about you. They can be influenced against you. Their hearts can grow against you if they become intimated of your success causing them to retreat on their promises, and or not follow through on their commitment with you!
By the grace of God, He allowed me to know the secret of success, “Though the means may change the promises will remain the same.”
In-spite of people inconsistency God is faithful. So even if people change their minds, God will never change His mind.
He is Sovereign! He can use man but If man make the decision to not support He will still fulfill His own promises with His own hands!
I truly believe that I don’t have to change for the worse to get the approval of one who may be successful in my industry just to have a taste of God’s promises.
Instead I will continue to keep my faith and integrity in the One who gave the promise. After-all, true success is in God! No one walks on streets that are golden like He does! Revelation 21:21
If your desire to know more about why we should chase purpose and not people, all the while not hating people while choosing to trust God, My latest book entitled “Purpose Not People!” written by my husband Aldi Essandjo and I can be found on my website kadijahessandjo.org
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
God has given her great wisdom and understanding of His Word and of the Spiritual realm. She has authored the book, “Restoring Righteousness.” A powerful devotional through which she teaches how to discern the divine from the wicked; and breaks down the Word of God in a way that will bring those who have perhaps strayed away or are lost to Christ, all the while holding mature believers accountable, and allowing readers to standardize the integrity of living for God.
Kadijah Essandjo also has a healing ministry; a very strong benefit and grace from above within her calling to preach, prophesy and minister. Through her sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, her ability to accurately see and perceive in the spiritual realm, many have been healed from sicknesses, delivered from oppression and brought to Christ. Even saved from suicide through her prophetic insight. Surely, the grace of God is upon her, working signs and wonders and bringing back a standard of righteousness to this generation.
Kadijah Essandjo has traveled throughout the United States and the United Kingdom to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ! She is currently the CO-Pastor of Covenant Christian Church – Arlington alongside her husband, Prophet Aldi Essandjo. A vision the Lord gave them both many years ago – now being fulfilled. Together, they have two beautiful girls named Ariel Genesis Essandjo and Skylar-Grace Essandjo; and a son named Israel-Nehemiah Essandjo. She is a devoted believer, a close companion and lover of the Holy Spirit, who was given to every believer, in order to lead us into all truth and to help us in our daily walk.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
While making the decision to follow the will of God in my life. I remember when my husband and I were traveling and preaching the gospel, praying for many and rejoiced as God healed them. Witnessing many stop in their process of suicide from the gospel peached through us by the works of the Holy Spirit.
While experiencing such miracles, there was a time we felt like the scum of the earth. Living in a hotel with our family due to certain limitations financially. We gave everything to God. Though it hurt for a while, nothing was outside of God’s plans.
In this place of uncertainty, God gave us favor, we were able increase our credits by much, go entirely debt free! Provide a new built home for our children and a church home for our ministry!
God brought us to a place where by our faith in Him He was able to not only break limitations off of our ministry but also our personal lives.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the lessons I had to unlearn was that everyone no wasn’t a direct attack against me. I found it to be God’s redirection.
Sometimes our hunger can push us into the wrong connections due to us not first hearing God concerning the matter.
I learned to hear God first before chasing after a connection or contract.
I will accept a no rather than having to rebuild what God started through me all because I choose to go ahead of God. I would rather listen to God and have His will work for my good without delay or unnecessary heart pain.
