We were lucky to catch up with Kadi Bain recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kadi , thanks for joining us today. How’s you first get into your field – what was your first job in this field?
I found Pilates in 2003 and fell in love with the workout! At the time I was a pharmaceutical sales representative. I decided to leave my job & pursue my passion and start my training to become a certified Pilates instructor. I went through a different trainings and got my certification in Pilates, Barre, and Lagree fitness. This ultimately lead me to start teaching Pilates at a studio in Centennial Co before opening my own studio.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hi! My name is Kadi and I am the founder of KD Pilates as well as an instructor. I am a mother of two young girls who keep me busy when not at the studio. Previously to opening my own studio I was the co-owner and founder of FAB Method Pilates.
I am a certified instructor in Classical Mat & Reformer Pilates, Lagree fitness, and Barre. I’ve been teaching group and/or individual fitness Pilates classes since 2013. I work on improving clients’ overall health, muscle tone and/or strength, and posture.
I absolutely love all my clients & the amazing instructors who teach at my studio! I feel blessed to be part of such an inspiring community of individuals! Thank you for all your support & continual support through the years ❤️.” ~Kadi Bain

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
There are several key factors that helped me build a reputation as a high-quality Pilates instructor and studio owner.
The first being certification and expertise. I have been teaching Pilates for quite a while now. Through my experience and continual client feedback, I get better daily.
Secondly with my marketing degree and sales background, it has helped with my communication skills and has allowed us to build an extremely tight knit community.
In addition, I try to give as much personal attention to all of my clients as well as do my part by continually learning new exercises and material that I incorporate each day.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Here are some effective strategies I’ve used to grow my clientele as a Pilates owner:
1) Referral programs
2) Digital marketing
3) Collaborations
4) Offering first time client specials and ensuring they have a great first time experience.
5) Offering private or semi private sessions for clients who are injuries or aren’t ready for group classes.
6) Offering a flexible schedule and online booking for the classes.
7) Superior service, and building a community around the studio.
8) Tracking analytics in order to steadily build clientele.
