Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kaci Marks. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kaci, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission is to be a successful florist that everyone wants to use. I have a big heart and I love helping everyone out. I know planning a wedding can be expensive. I also know what flowers cost and that I have to make money off of my weddings , but people do not have to break the bank. Yes, Flower prices have gone up , and I have had to go up on my prices , but at the end of the day I know that I am not doing this to become rich. My main goal is to be able to do my kids weddings one day. I want to keep my hands in the flower industry in hopes to doing my kids weddings and my nieces and nephews. I absolutely love my job. To see the smile on the Brides face when they see their bouquet for the first time is breathtaking . My mission is to serve my brides with my big heart. My mission is to help them out as much as I can and give them the wedding of their dreams.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Kaci Marks and I am the owner of Kaci’s Kreations. I have been married to my husband , Bj for 20 years and we have 3 kids. Tripp (18) , Joe (14) , and Allie (11) . I have been doing flowers since I was a Senior in high school. I started out as a delivery driver and moved inside to design really quick and I have enjoyed it ever since. I have been doing flowers for almost 21 years and I have loved every minute of it. I specialize in weddings and events and I also do funeral arrangements. I stay booked .. and I am completely blessed with how things have turned out for my business. Most of my business comes from word of mouth. I do one wedding and then I usually get all of the bridesmaids weddings as well. I take pride in my business. I do not take anything for granted. By owning my business I am able to stay at home with my kids and I work just about every weekend. Sometimes my daughter does not like that but I have to show her and tell her that Atleast I am home during the week. I absolutely love using my creativity and I can’t stand to make any bouquets look alike. I love from them all to be different in some form or fashion.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
My clients are very special to me. Most of my clients come to me by word of mouth. I did one of their friends weddings and they said I had to do their wedding. I do have Facebook and Instagram that keeps me connected to my new and passed clients.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Posting pictures , Definitely ! I like to give shoutouts to the bride and groom after the wedding. This way I can show them off and my work. A lot of my future brides come to me after they have seen the flowers I do in their friends weddings or their friend tells them about me. Most of my clients do come to me by word of mouth. I am the #1 preferred florist at a couple of venues here in the area. Such as : The Rivers Ranch in Jackson, Ga , Beautiful Beginnings in Newborn, Ga and Southern Charm in Social Circle , Ga . I love working with these venues and so many more.
