Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kache’ Stewart. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Kache’, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The Rockstar Xperience Beauty Studio is workplace that offers beauty professionals a safe place to service their clients on a daily basis. The system provides an alternative way to allow beauty professionals to service their clientele without any long term commitment. They are allowed to rent suites and booths, daily, weekly and monthly at an affordable cost. This idea came about because a semi-failed business. A partner and I co-owned a beauty studio where we attempted to build a beauty team. We tried the commission-based system and year contract booth/suite rental system . While the booth/suite rental system did sustain us, I noticed the beauty professionals desired more freedom. They were having a hard time paying weekly booth rent and staying committed to their year long contracts.
When our lease was coming to an end, my partner called it quits but my intuition said, “Keep it!” The day after I renewed the lease without my partner was the day the idea sparked in my head! I did some research and noticed there is a lane for daily salon rentals.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into the beauty industry when I was in high school. I was a basement hairstylist, kitchen hairstylist, traveling hairstylist, and college dorm hairstylist. I honestly did not think beauty would be my career until I moved to Atlanta. My third month living in Atlanta, I had the opportunity to model in the Bronner Bros show, which was my first time attending the hair convention. My mind was blown away! At that moment I knew I had to take hair to the next level. It’s crazy to think that it’s been 6 years since that realization. I worked my way up in Atlanta’s beauty world. I started as an assistant at Snob Life Studios to booth rentals at Get Glam’d Hair Salon to now owning my own place, The Rockstar Xperience. I am most proud of my resilience and growth because being 1 out of 1 million hairstylist in ATL is not easy. What sets me apart from most stylist is my attention to detail, customer service and the overall experience. I treat my clients like VIP no matter their social status. Now that I have experienced growing to such level, I am entering the real estate industry. I want to help others, like myself, grow in ownership.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
My oh my! Funding my business was not an easy task. The initial plan was to go the OPM (other people’s money) route. I was meeting with loan officers for 3 months. The problem was that my business was not operating for 6 months or longer and I did not establish business credit. So I learned my lesson quickly. I decided to bootstrap my business. I had saved enough money from my hair services to open my business. But the next business venture, I am preparing now!

If you have multiple revenue streams in your business, would you mind opening up about what those streams are and how they fit together?
Yes! The Rockstar Xperience has 4 different revenue streams. We have the beauty studio, online beauty store, free education on youtube, and services. I absolutely love it this way!
