We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kacey Johnson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Kacey, appreciate you joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later

If I could go back in time I definitely would’ve started my business before I had kids. I was actually doing independent contract work for a company just hosting vendor market type events and I realized the women who were attending adn the women who were featuring their businesses needed and deserved more for their time at these types of events! Thus the idea for Ladies Lifestyle Network came to life. I wanted a place where women could come to feel safe, heard, connected to other women and also the ladies being featured could really have the best chance to be connecting with the quality women in their communities and sharing about their business and passions! But of course I didn’t really get started with launching and growing LLN until after my fist child was born and then I had two more after her so now I am always trying to find the time to work on my business while raising three little kids – it’s a lot (to say the least)!

I certainly would’ve just gone ahead and started when I had the vision and idea for Ladies Lifestyle Network a few years before I started having kiddos. I am way more confident now in my plans for this business but I do just wish I had the time that I did before. Looking back now, I had all the time in the world and I didn’t take advantage of it & now I have extremely limited time. So if you have a dream or an idea, just start it right now! There will be no perfect or right time to do it, trust me. And in a year from now, you’ll wish you had started sooner. The time will pass anyways so you might as well take the leap and go for it!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Kacey Johnson and I am a wife, mother of three small kiddos, the founder of Ladies Lifestyle Network & the host of the Chick Chat Collective Podcast.

I have always been a people person, a connector & a lover of helping people. Ever since elementary school, I’ve been known to help anyone in any way that I can & it’s truly something I love & feel makes a difference in the world & people’s lives.

Ladies Lifestyle Network is a women’s empowerment, personal development & professional networking business with in -person events and a large online community! When I founded Ladies Lifestyle Network in Charlotte, NC in 2019 it was solely to empower women. Period. I wanted to create a space in person and online where women could be empowered, learn something, be featured for their specific talents & gifts, grow in their personal & professional lives, & have a community of like-minded women to lean on and feel supported by!

This became even more important to me after my separation from my husband & partner of twelve years & having just had my first baby (my daughter) just four months prior. All the sudden I was a 30 something single mother with a newborn & zero help from anyone, let alone the one person I trusted the most in the world. That’s when it REALLY hit me & I realized, women need a place to feel safe, be successful in life AND in business, have mentors who can & are happy to help, guide & give them inspiration to chase after their dreams. We need to be allowed & encouraged deeply to want more for ourselves, to go after those “crazy” ideas we have, all the while having other women cheering us on & rooting for us!

I LOVE this business I’ve created SO much – I know it is my purpose (outside of raising my three sweet children & loving my incredibly supportive husband) to empower women & help them achieve success personally & professionally! We’re all here for a purpose & it’s so much fun to see people fulling stepping into theirs & having the confidence & support to do so! Ladies Lifestyle Network is now in 10 other cities across the country and also just launched the first chapter of Latinas Lifestyle Network here in Charlotte which provides the LLN events & online experience in Spanish so we are reaching and impacting as many women as we can! It’s amazing to watch these communities grow – it’s truly a dream come true.

How did you build your audience on social media?

Be authentic & show up. Be as consistent as you can be without burning yourself out. If you’re a genuine person showing up in a way that feels natural and good to you – you will attract the kind of people you are looking for.

Too many people on social media these days are so phony you can literally see if within the first few posts. Trust your intuition & stay true to who you are and your brand/business.

Do not buy fake followers, they won’t get you ahead & it will be obvious that you did!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

I know it is my ability to listen to people and my genuine wanting to impact my local community of women in the most positive way! I am here for my people, I show up, I try my very best to make sure each event/post/experience/retreat/course is the most beneficial for the women who are likely to participate in them. I truly want to see these women make long lasting personal & professional mutually beneficial relationships through my events and online community. I think people who meet me and know me, know this about me & trust me to take care of them to the best of my ability in this space.

I’ve also been in the event and women empowerment space for over a decade so the women who are a part of Ladies Lifestyle Network in any city can rest assure knowing the events will be well organized and curated.
