We caught up with the brilliant and insightful KA ZARR Coleman a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, KA ZARR thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
For me being granted the freedom to openly express my creative thoughts, visions and aspirations and see it all come to into reality before with my follower, family and friends is the American Dream. One of our greatest gifts is our passions and the ability to chase them full speed if we chose to. My greatest reward will come not while I’m here, but in the minds, hearts and memories of those whom I’ve been privileged to touch in my lifetime.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I was born in South Boston, VA and grew up in the Washington, DC and Maryland suburbs. I grew up in a very close and loving family with my three sisters, brother and parents. I have two wonderful kids, both fully grown now. I’ve always been a creative in some form or fashion growing up, whether it be through dra wing, playing the piano, singing in theatrical musicals or participating as a regular on the dance television shows. In 2009, I decided to try my hand at acting in TV shows and film productions locally. It was there that I discovered, what I felt was the Lords calling and purpose for my life. After performing in numerous local productions, I felt a void in how many of the local film producers were approaching their films and lack of deserve to expand beyond the DMV with their craft. It was there, that I decided to educate myself and launch my own full-service film and media production company. Since then, the Lord has blessed me to receive over 22 international Indie filmmaking awards, and to go on to become one of the most sort after cinematographers in the DMV and abroad. I later became an Author, TV show host and, Custom Italian Shoe designer, as well as motivational speaker in the film entertainment industry Masterclasses, Acquiring well 144 combined professional Actors, Producers, directors, and production crew credits on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB).
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being in the entertainment industry, you have to have thick skin in that it’s loaded with competition. As a result, not everyone plays fare in how they treat and handle their fellow artist or businessmen. For me, I’ve made it my business to operate out of the set of life principles learned through my personal beliefs and relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Enforcing the basic standard of treating everyone as I would want them to treat me. I believe those values has proven to be transparent in how my clients view me working relationship with them.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I’ve been in business for over 16 years, one of the focal points of my business has been honesty, transparency, respect and knowledge transference. Many of my clients are repeat customers or new customers referred by my loyal customers over the years.
