We caught up with the brilliant and insightful K9CARLO a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, K9CARLO thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Well, as a child I always had my attention toward explosive music and performances, growing up in an environment where music was everywhere around me.
I always pictured myself being on those stages performing music that gave someone some urge to get up and feel like they were a part of something.
I guess you can say at a young age I knew at some point I was going to take this professionally and get the ball rolling.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is K9CARLO,
I’m an artist/songwriter/performer and I reside over here in Houston, Texas.
I am one of many from a collective of like minded artists called, CYG.
I make music that can hopefully give people an escape and help check their problems at the door when they come to my shows, when they slide the headphones on, or decide to listen on the road.
What separates me from anyone else is the ranges of emotion people can plug my music into regardless of any areas of life they may be in. My music covers a range of hard hitting rage tracks to slow and ominous jams or just all around music to get you moving.
I love to see people go crazy and turn up in the crowd, enjoying the moment they are currently in and creating a memory hopefully that can last a lifetime.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Great question.
I honestly feel that the most rewarding aspect of this is definitely the fans and the family like atmosphere from meeting people that click with you and your music.
Some moments are still breathtaking and even though I’ve only begun to scratch the surface, I can’t wait to see what’s next to experience as the K9CARLO name can eventually make it into being a household name.
: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes of course.
My goal is to one day show anyone that anything is possible.
I came from being doubted by some of the closest people to me. Most of my family always tried to snuff my conversations or aspirations of one day doing this and I personally don’t think anything has driven me more.
The doubt and laughter gave me a reason to show them wrong.
So don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do anything, you can do anything you put your mind to.
