We were lucky to catch up with K. Noel Jordan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi K. Noel, thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
As a speaker I have been speaking for quite sometime now, I started off as a preacher. I remember in high school I had a friend who used to tell me I would be a preacher. Considering where I was then I felt that was very far fetched. I have always been one to study people in whatever path I was going. Whether it was speaking, writing, leadership or content creation; I learned from those ahead of me in the path.
I have joined different coaching communities like Books Profits Club, Deeper Than The Brand and Next Level Speakers Academy. Each one had led me into the other. Before I joined Deeper Than The Brand I participated in Karl Phillips’ 21 days Creation Challenge. As a leader I have always found it a good idea to at least know some of the job that people on my team. So I was preparing for the future as a speaker to know what was needed. As i began learning it myself I found myself becoming really good at it. There were people who expressed interest in me doing work for them but it never followed through. Eventually doors started opening up for me to do the work. The funny thing is, I never wanted to or had plans to be a content creator, as I tell most people I stumbled into it. It has opened a lot of doors for me.
For me content creation is just scratching the surface because my truest purpose is to speak and write my books with the message of telling others to Be Relentless. Being relentless has always caused me to give it my all to be my very best and when I am not what I believe to be my very best I keep pushing at it until I am at my best, that is what I consider to be the relentless mindset.
One thing that I am learning now is the need for a team. Having a team can help me free up the time I need to focus on the key things in my life. Thanks to A.I. it has been a major help with freeing up time for me to start focusing on the neccessary things that I need to do until I build my team.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am K. Noel Jordan. God’s purpose design for me is to be a speaker and author. I have always been passionate about helping people and encouraging and motivating them. I have always believed that there is a better version of us waiting to be unlocked and it happens in levels. There was a point in my life where I walked away from ministry and everything else that I felt was a part of my purpose. It was during the beginning of the pandemic when we were supposed to be in our homes that God birthed out of me to be relentless. It will be hard sometimes, there will be times you may want to cry and even give up but at the end of the day my message to you is DON’T QUIT AND BE RELENTLESS. I also have a podcast called Relentless Conversations W/ K. Noel; I am the author of #BeRelentless and Unlocking The Treasures From Within.
As a business owner I help busy speakers and podcasters who do not have time to create content for social media with the footage that they have. I make eye catching content that fits their brand, impacts and catches the eye of their followers, and give a strong impression of who they are. For me this is also an avenue to motivate and inspire people through created content, whether it is through my content or someone else’s. I edit audio podcasts, use zoom recordings that are purposed for podcasts to give it a look as if it wasn’t recorded on zoom, I also create content for social media, and I manage social media accounts as well.
One thing that I am most proud of is the impact that I have had on people’s lives whether it is through direct conversations, my personal social media content, or to be able to see the impact on others through someone else’s content. I have the eye to find the right kind of content that will have a major impact on people. That has been the constant review that I hear. I consider it to be a gift to find the right piece of content that will have a major impact on the lives of others.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding thing for me as a creative is impact. I love to see the impact that it has on others. That is a major key thing for me. I realize that my content is not about me but about the impact that it will have on others. To hear and see how it freed others and lit a fire in them, that is the most satisfying feeling ever. Even to hear my clients get reports back from their followers how a piece of content I created has changed their lives. For me it is rewarding because it strengthens me to keep going on those hard days. I have learned that sometimes you have to have a personal book of remembrance of those kinds of moments so that it will inspire you in those difficult moments.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
If I am being transparent, this year has been extremely difficult for me but, I have learned that it is in those tough moments that if you allow it, you will learn a lot about yourself and you will discover strength that you didn’t know you had. Sometimes God will have us go down certain paths to learn exactly who we were created to be. There have been times that I have cried, that I have even wanted to throw in the towel but, I put my trust in God and He strengthens me and with that strength I am relentless.
Even when I want to quit, I learn how to shift and lock in to my relentless mindset. This year has made my message even more clearer as what it means to be relentless. There will be times that you will lose friends but I have come to realization that they were for a season. You will also have moments you feel a lone, I had plenty of those moments, where it felt like no one knew my pain, where I felt like the least of many but again I know I have to be relentless. I had to go back into my record books and remind myself who I am.
Sometimes life causes us to forget who we are, especially the storms that we face. But with the right strength, with the God type of strength you can stand up in the midst of your storm, You may want to feel like you want to quit but you don’t quit. Keep going. I realized that every storm has an expiration date and there is so many great things on the other side of the storm if you just keep moving. The absolute key is to keep moving. So a story that from my journey that illustrates my resilience, all I can say is look at my journey RIGHT NOW and you will see it live and in action! But, stay tuned because my podcast will be coming back soon and now that I am bettering my time, I will be back with my podcast with even more fire episodes!
