We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful K Hall. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with K below.
K, appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I was influenced by my environment not yet a product of it. After a lack luster attempt at college I found myself by in that same environment. I join the Army and enlisted as infantry. I was in 3 fire fights and IED explosion that hit the truck i was driving. My plan was to pass away and leave my mother 400,000 dollars. As I type this now it’s clear that didn’t happened. That risk I took for my mother was actually for me to get my life together.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Artist. Music has always been my passion and an everyday part of my life. Hip hop was and is one of the most influential art forms. In the beginning music was an escape from the reality in which lived, although it mirrored the same image. My art style is an unconventional as my journey. Coming from a place where most residents will agree is a war zone in its own right, dying in my city would have cost my family more than if I died overseas like I intended. I’m proud of the fact I was willing to be the sacrificial lamb for mom and even more proud of fact that I didn’t succeed with my goal. Therefore is allowed me to find and cultivate my purpose. My brand is a direct reflection of my life, “Fam First Fu** Friends”. I was and still willing to risk it all for the “F4MILY”
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The mission is simply which is to provide by doing something love so you ever have a bad day at work. I’ve invested time and countless dollars on what was just a hobby, that became main goal. Create good music that resonates with the soul of the listener even if the experiences differ. As Leonardo De Vinci does with his writings and paint brush, the same Aristotle has done with science is what I will achieve with my music.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Understand that art is art jo matter how sculpt it. Don’t look at the individual differences of particular genres of music but the message that lies within each song. Great art doesn’t just come from those we place upon pedestal but from that’s laying their first brick as well. Support is the greatest gift for any artist and doesnt cost you a dime.
