We recently connected with Justine Nord and have shared our conversation below.
Justine, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
I had done many things in my life. Different careers that taught me different things and all of which gave me tremendous growth. But there was always an underlying “pull” towards horses. Somewhere deep inside I always knew that’s where my real career lied. One day while massaging my own horse I realized that that is some thing I could pursue. That was my defining moment that led me on a trajectory of Equine Bodywork education and the countless Equine teachers I encounter on a daily basis. Today I have a successful book of business that I am in awe of the magic it brings me each day.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Once I became certified as an equine bodyworker I started out by going to all the horse shows I could. I would put flyers up in every Porta potty on the entire show grounds. That simple marketing strategy got me a lot of business. Soon I had Olympic trainers endorsing me after they felt the positive effects on their horses after having a session with me. My business is primarily in the performance horse industry. These horses either do dressage or show jumping, both Olympic sports. My work is with both amateurs and professionals.Like most top athletes these horses are on a consistent body work schedule to keep them performing at their best. I like to compare them to an NFL athlete. These athletes have a village supporting them behind the scenes, like chiropractors, body workers, massage therapists, doctors and the list goes on. I am part of that village but for horses.
Consistency is key for any success and I am most thankful for each owner who allows me to put my hands on their magnificent creature.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Integrity, consistency and compassion are the ingredients for a successful career as an equine bodyworker. People trust me with these magnificent animals that they care deeply about.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe in cultivating a healthy relationship with each and every client based on honesty, professionalism, a positive attitude and a deep respect for each client and horse combination. They are on their own personal journey and I am one who wants to support that beautiful relationship. I don’t try to make changes or sell them a supplement. I am purely there to help make the horses feel better and create awareness within the rider to better support them on their journey. Because of this approach The majority of my business is by referral.
