We recently connected with Justine Cohen and have shared our conversation below.

Justine, appreciate you joining us today. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.

My parents supported my curious mind and fostered healthy independence in me. I was always taking extra classes to supplement my education and explore special interests. This taught me to follow my highest excitement and feed my mind, not worrying about the outcome. Learning for learnings sake,

In high school, my dad would drive me to Boston on Saturdays so I could take classes at MIT. Not only did I love learning, I enjoyed the time alone to explore Boston and wander the city parks and streets. Fast forward a decade later, and instead of art and poetry classes, I was learning about spirituality, tarot, and astrology.

That’s how my abilities with spirit babies found me – through learning. I was in a psychic skills class (not for professional reasons, but because I loved it and wanted to learn more) and spirit babies started to show up. In all of my sessions for about six months, I was connecting with babies on the other side, people who wanted to get pregnant, or those who had experienced pregnancy loss.

Finally, it hit me – spirit babies love talking to me. When I communicate with them, my channel lights up. My entrepreneurial streak kicked in and I took the leap, opening my spirit baby mediumship business. I haven’t looked back since.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’m a spirit baby medium, meaning, I specialize in spirit baby communication. Spirit babies are souls before they’re born. Classic mediumship is souls after death. Spirit babies are souls on their way in.

I’ve been working with my own spirit babies for 7+ years, though they have been around me since I was conceived. I’ve been working as a psychic medium professionally since 2020, initially as an animal communicator and classic medium.

My skills evolved and I found my specialty of working with spirit babies – souls on their way in.

Spiritual work is in my blood. My last name, Cohen, means Priest. And, while I was raised and identify as Jewish, my grandfather was a Minister. My place of birth, Providence, RI, means “of grace.”

I’ve been initiated into the energies of Egypt through a journey there in 2021 with my teacher, a High Priestess. I’m continuing my training and currently working towards becoming a Mystic Priestess, culminating in an ordination in Egypt in 2026 in the lineages of Thoth, Ma’at, and Sehkmet.

I’ve united with the codes of Mary Magdalen on a sacred pilgrimage to Avalon, Wales, and Glastonbury (UK) with two other of my teachers, a Celtic High Priestess and sacred site Priest, in 2023.

Self-development is my superpower, and I’ve been on a spiritual path and committed to my practice since 2012, both self-directed and under the guidance of various teachers.

For most of my life, I’ve been in recovery from a variety of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual dis-eases/imbalances, including OCD, chronic pain, disordered eating, PTSD, bipolar, codependency, and dysfunctional family system patterns. I’m a trauma-informed survivor.

Because of my family system healing, inner child work has become an integral part of my life. It blends beautifully with my spirit baby work as I teach clients to take care of their own inner child, reparenting themselves while preparing to be a healthy, loving parent to their real-life child.

I have always loved children – there are photos of me smiling hard, holding my younger sibling or cousins when I was between 2 and 5 years old.

I love working with spirit babies, too. They’re such creative, delightful souls.

As a spirit baby medium, my role is a bridge between worlds – helping spirit babies arrive here in the physical form. I help parents who are ready to nurture these sensitive, gentle, and expansive souls arrive.

Because I’ve healed so much womb trauma (physical, emotional, spiritual) in my own life and body, and because spirit babies come through the womb, womb healing has become an integral part of my offerings as well.

Have you ever had to pivot?

I first started as a business coach. I have a full career of supporting entrepreneurs in operations as their assistant and also have my MBA. I have extensive experience working virtually, too. So, when 2020 hit, and everyone needed to know how to transform to digital, I jumped right in.

I started volunteering and working part-time with clients, helping them ideate, adjust, and implement business models that worked in pandemic world. I quickly realized that I was coaching them, and that coaching came easily to me. I had done some life coaching in the past, but thought business coaching was more practical of an offering.

So, I started my first business as a business coach. I worked with artists, entrepreneurs, and non-profits. I built out programs and offerings and worked with clients.

And while parts of it were great, it wasn’t flowing. It felt like an uphill battle to find and convert clients.

Alongside this, I was learning about my mediumship skills and doing readings on the side. I finally hit a breaking point in my business – it felt like it wasn’t going anywhere, and the spirit babies were getting louder and louder.

It felt like a spiritual call from the spirit babies, asking me to work with them. I didn’t want to miss the opportunity, so I pivoted. I committed to switching gears and offering psychic work instead of business coaching. I archived my business coaching Instagram page. I didn’t launch the business coaching website that I had spent thousands of dollars and dozens of hours working on.

I pivoted to psychic work. And… it flowed. The clients showed up, and kept showing up.

And while I’m still engaged in the effort of growing a business, it’s much easier and inspired. I realized that I don’t really like business coaching as a job. But I love doing readings. For me, the pivot was everything.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

As a psychic medium, reputation is everything. People need to look at me and be able to believe what I’m saying is true. It’s about integrity. I’ve built my reputation through my integrity.

In every session or workshop, I give my all. I give my full presence. I dig deep inside myself to hear/see/feel messages from the other side. I trust in what I’m receiving from the other side, I trust in myself, and share what’s coming through. I work through self-doubt for the benefit of my client.

This translates to powerful, healing, honest sessions that leave an impact. Which in turn translates to my clients sharing about their experience with others. A lot of my business is based on referrals because of this.

Of course, that’s not my intention when sitting with someone. I’m not there for the referral, I’m there for them. That integrity and presence translates to building my reputation and inspiring clients to share with their friends.

I also build my reputation by letting my online representations (website, IG, newsletter) be transmissions from my heart and soul. I write as if I’m speaking to someone dear to me. I write as if I’m speaking to my client personally. I choose words that elicit feelings. A felt sense. I choose images that represent important times for me and hold the energetic frequencies that align with my work and my intentions.

I also continue my education in coursework directly related to my work so that I show up educated and informed. I’ve educated myself on birth, pregnancy, mediumship, ceremonies, mental/physical/emotional health and trauma, so that I can be a responsible steward and informed practitioner.
