Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Justina Sanchez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Justina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was your school or training experience like? Share an anecdote or two that you feel illustrate important aspects or the overall nature of your schooling/training experience.
Going to school is a formative time in a person’s life. We are there to learn, to grow, to support and receive from those around us. When I decided to go back to school in my early 20’s I took the less traditional route of going to a trade school, which turned out to be the right path for me at that time in my life. I went to ITT-Technical Institute. I knew I was working for a great company and if I wanted to move up in my role and responsibilities I needed that technical knowledge, training, and experience. ITT-Tech was a great school that immersed me into the world of technology and electronic engineering. I literally knew nothing about Computers and Electronic Engineering and came out knowing the ins and out of electronic circuitry and components, along with computer programming and much more. In 2010 I graduated with a degree in Computer and Electronic Engineering of Technology. If that weren’t enough schooling, I decided to go back to school a handful of years later, only this time it was going to be for Ministry. See during that in between time, God got ahold of my heart and I was so hungry to learn and grow in the knowledge of who God is. I spent several years taking Pastoral Support classes, Christian Leadership and Development classes, training in the Supernatural, and so much more. All the while I saw myself growing into who God was calling me to be. I grew in relationship with Him and began to trust Him at His Word. I began to do exactly as He said. As I did, the world around me began to change. Suddenly I was seeing the impact being made through me, to the natural world. It is pretty amazing! I learned that with Him, nothing is impossible! We really can do anything we put our minds to. Often times that desire in your heart and in your mind, just may be a part of the very purpose in which you were created. So go after it! I am happy to share that in September of 2021 I received my Doctor of Divinity from HSBN International School of Ministry. Being a forever student and listening to the wise words from a dear friend who said, “when we know better, we do better” and that applies to every area in life. I still am not done with school. I am about a year away from getting my Bachelor’s in Business from City Vision University. I know I have calling in the corporate world and want to do my part carry out that out as best I can and making a real impact.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, my name is Justina Sanchez, and I am a wife, mom and professionally an engineer. I’m just a girl who loves God and is going after all He has for me and the world around me! I’m going share some of my journey with you, is that ok? I am born in San Diego and raised by my super amazing and supportive mom. Growing up I wanted to be an actress, so I did a lot of theater and took lots of professional classes, like on camera acting and commercial basics to name a few. I moved to LA right after I graduated high school with my then sweetheart, now husband. I pursued that dream in my heart for years, only to find the longer I did it the less I wanted it. When I was 22 I moved back to San Diego and got a “real” job. I started off as an administrative assistant at the company I still work for called TUV SUD America. When I first started at the company, I didn’t know anything about engineering, I just needed a decent job with benefits, and I got that and sooooo much more! 2 years after I started, I began to realize there was this whole world of engineering I never knew existed. I saw that it was fun and exciting, and no two days were alike. I began to get glimpses of what my future could be like if I were an engineer and immediately my eyes and heart would light up! The more I thought about it, the more my heart would leap out of my chest with excitement! One day I walked into my boss’s office and asked him what I had to do to be an engineer, he replied “Get a degree in electronic engineering.” I said “ok” and turned and walked out, immediately I went to my desk and googled electronic engineering. ITT-Tech was amongst the list that popped up. I knew some of my team had gone there, so I called them up and made an appointment to tour the school the following week. Before I knew it, I was enrolled and started classes. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I knew I could see myself as an engineer just like the ones I worked with. Once I started, I never looked back. I worked during the day and went to school at night for a long time. I can look back and say all the sacrifice and discipline was worth it. 3 months after I graduated, I was promoted to a Product Safety Test Technician and then I found out I was pregnant. This was all new for me. In the new role I was responsible for doing all the electrical safety testing of products and responsible for all the lab equipment and operations. As I got my feet wet, and my belly was growing, and I embraced it all. After a few years of maintaining the lab and getting familiar with all its processes and procedures, I felt confident that I could run a fully accredited lab. Little did I know, all that time I was being prepared for the role I have now. Fast forward to 2015 I was promoted to a Product Safety Engineer. Now I would manage full product evaluations from beginning to end. At TUV SUD we are a regulatory and compliance agency, simply put we test and certify products before they go to market. We make sure they are safe for you to use. I was a Product Safety Engineer for 6 years when the opportunity to be a Quality Engineer arose without me looking for it. The way it happened was like nothing I had ever experienced, and I knew if I didn’t try it I would have regrets. So here I am now as a Quality Engineer II. Now I get to go to all our labs in North America and audit them. It’s crazy to think for years I was testing in the lab and being audited, now I am the auditor. It’s pretty cool and I am loving it! I believe it is all a part of pursuing the purpose in which I was created. There is so much fulfillment and enjoyment in it! I also am the co-founder of Radiant Pearls Ministries. We are a media ministry, and our heart is to educate, empower and unite people. We provide a platform for people to come on and share testimonies of what God has done in them and through them. We have had on some powerful, inspiring, and educated people that I feel so blessed to have met. Some whom have become great friends and mentors.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Absolutely! No doubt about it! I would 100% choose the same profession! I love what I get to do!! It’s so exciting and every day is different. I get to use my critical thinking skills and make engineering decisions based on my experience and expertise, along with meeting lots of people. I love to travel and see all the labs, incorporate best practices throughout North America and share what I know and learn new things along the way. Being able to make an impact on people and places really brings me joy. I am really grateful!!
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Hearing the voice of God. He has given me divine instructions on the plans He wants carried out in the corporate world. I think “I am not qualified; I have no idea how to do what you are asking but Yes Lord.” I know Him and have built a history with God. I have seen faithfulness in my life over and over. He has provided everything and everyone I need to fulfill His plan. I trust Him and I trust His plan. It’s exciting to see what He is going to do it and when I reflect, I am always blown away by how He does it. I love it!!!
