We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Justina Salinas. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Justina below.
Justina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
The daydreaming of a “regular” job definitely comes up from time to time. Some seasons more than others. Lately, not so much which is really nice to reflect on.
I think the whole grass is greener train of thought is human nature. Often times for me it comes up when friends get bonuses or can have a weekend without feeling guilty. When you’re building something from ground 0 it’s going to take time to get it right and in a world if instant gratification and high paying corporate jobs it can be really tough to not judge the process. It’s all a tradeoff though and we all have our sacrifices and tough moments.
There are many moments where that wonder almost led me to stop what I am doing and just get “a regular job” but I’m really glad I let it pass and continued on. Sometimes it can even be a trigger to rest and reconnect with my “why.”
That might be one of my biggest pieces of advice. Get really familiar with your why and write it down and revisit it often.
Also, take that rest, step away and go do something for yourself, go to a meetup, do that hobby, you’ll feel refreshed and ready to dive back in. Remember that this process takes time and a big part of the reason a lot of entrepreneurs do what we do is because we have a big vision and we want to help and support our local communities.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
At Araceli Farms we specialize in creating spaces, events and products that help remind you to come back to yourself, to give you permission to lean into slowness, that remind you that restoration can be found in stillness.

We hope to be a reminder that it’s time to make room for yourself.
We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
We use Shopify.
I haven’t ventured into the other platforms just because it entails more management and until I feel like I can streamline one platform enough to delegate then maybe we can expand out to another but for right now one is plenty.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I think just being here and present as a human in 2023 is testament enough – then you add being a small business owner in California. It’s pretty wild and tough. Worth it, but tough.
