We recently connected with Justin Vreeland and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Justin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
When I started performing and writing, I would be writing songs in my basement, and when I’d get something I liked, I would just jam on it for like an hour. My father, who was upstairs, would come down a whole lot and say, “Hey, who wrote that?”. I’d say, “I did”, and he would be shocked. Stuff like that would happen a lot! With the more practice I got, and the more performances I did, the better the reviews became, and soon I had all sorts of people asking if I’d go to Nashville, join America’s Got Talent, etc. I slowly started realizing that I had a gift that shouldn’t be wasted.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Justin Vreeland, and I am a rock and roll artist currently based in Savannah. I write, perform, and produce my own records. I pride myself on my ability to capture an audience, and give high-quality performances at venues all around the area.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
In my field, the best thing a society can do is attend the shows, listen to the records, and spread the word about musicians. When people attend the shows, it benefits the artist, the venue, their suppliers, and so on and so forth. It may seem small, but it actually contributes to the atmosphere and economy of the area!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a performer is seeing the reactions of the people you play to. You can see their eyes light up to certain songs. You can hear them cheer as you sing the chorus to a classic song. It’s always great hearing them talk to you after the shows, too. You really feel like you made their night. It’s a great feeling.
