Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Justin Smith. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Justin, appreciate you joining us today. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you as a business owner?
The most important lesson I learned in a previous job that has helped me as a business owner, is learning “The Art of Customer Service” After years of working at an upbeat cafe I was able to refine my approach to customer service. On a daily basis I was interacting with hundreds of people who all came through the door with a myriad of different attitudes, some more pleasant than others. Very quickly, I learned that if I could find a way to connect to a customer untimely, I would feel less drained at the end of the day and at the same time, I noticed people who were once a little cantankerous would start to soften up and have a better experience when they came in. Sometime all it would take was just asking a small question, like how someone’s day was going, to completely turn a person’s day around. This was how we built a loyal base of customers. By looking at each custom as an important person instead of an annoying customer was a huge leap for me.


As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have always been a Cannabis enthusiast, so it was a natural decision to open a Retail Cannabis Dispensary when the State of New York finally legalized. Our team loves searching for the best Cannabis Farms and Processors. One of our goals is to work with as many local companies as we can before reaching out to Multi-State Operators. We are very proud of our curated selection of products. We Pride ourselves on having the most knowledgeable Budtenders who really care about the customers and who have a deep understanding of the products we sell. We definitely go above and beyond to help people find the perfect product so they can walk out of the store feeling happy and satisfied.


What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe our reputation is bult on constancy and consideration. We try to keep our pricing low and the quality of our products high. We offer very fair pricing and often choose to take on the cost of things that other businesses generally pass on to their customers.


What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new customer has been through “Word of Mouth” and strategically placed ads.
