Hi Justin, thanks for joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

Yes, naming anything, especially a business, can be quite challenging! For my brand, I drew inspiration from my own name, Justin, and came up with “Just in Pic.” The idea behind it is a play on words—capturing the essence of seizing the right moments in a photograph.

As a photographer, I aim to preserve memories in a way that allows people to revisit those moments and relive the emotions, even years later. I want my photos to serve as a portal, a way for future generations to travel back in time and feel everything that was felt at that very moment. My brand is about more than just taking pictures—it’s about immortalizing memories that evoke joy, love, and nostalgia every time they’re viewed.

Hello again :) I’m Justin and I’m thrilled at the opportunity to share a bit about myself and my passion for capturing life’s special moments. I’m based in San Jose, where I live with my amazing wife and children. It was actually my desire to capture precious moments of my family that led me to pick up my first camera, sparking a journey that eventually turned into a full-time career.

My love for photography deepened as I began exploring instant photos and film. There’s something truly magical about capturing a moment in its raw, unedited form and watching it develop right before your eyes. It’s a reminder that life’s most beautiful moments are fleeting and genuine. Photography became more than just a hobby—it became a way to preserve time.

Today, I specialize in wedding photography, a genre that holds a special place in my heart. There’s nothing quite like documenting the laughter, the tears, the dance, and the vows of a wedding day. I see myself not only as a photographer but as a storyteller, capturing the love, joy, and excitement that fill these incredible events. My goal is for my clients to be able to look back at their photos and not just see the moments but feel the emotions of the day as if they were reliving it all over again.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a photographer is the ability to freeze time and preserve emotions through my lens. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about capturing a moment that someone can look back on and instantly be transported back to that day, experiencing all the joy, laughter, and love all over again. Knowing that my work can evoke powerful memories and emotions for my clients, allowing them to relive their happiest moments, is truly priceless.

It’s not just about taking beautiful pictures—it’s about telling a story that people will cherish for years, even generations, to come. That’s what drives me and gives purpose to my craft.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I believe my reputation in the market has been built on a foundation of genuine connection, dedication, and consistency. From the very beginning, I’ve focused on building strong relationships with my clients and truly understanding their stories. Every couple and family I work with is unique, and I make it a point to reflect that individuality in their photos.

My attention to detail and commitment to capturing authentic emotions have also been key factors. I want my clients to feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera, which is why I spend time getting to know them before the shoot. This extra step helps me capture natural, candid moments that reflect who they really are.
