We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Justin Larkin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Justin below.
Justin, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I had been working on this trading and investing software independently for about three years when I met my co-founder, Dennis Butler. I shared my work with him, and he was the first person to truly support the product and recognize the potential impact it could have on the community. We quickly discovered that our interests in technology, investing, and, most importantly, our motivations were perfectly aligned. Both of us shared a strong ambition to honor and continue the legacy of those who influenced our upbringing.
While brainstorming a name that would embody our mission, I turned to an old book of business ideas. The first name that caught my eye was “Jeanius Technology,” a tribute to my late mother, whose nickname was “Jean.” When I shared the name with Dennis, he reacted with surprise—his late grandmother was also named Jean. For me, this moment felt like a sign that our endeavor was meant to be. It solidified the beginning of our partnership, as everything seemed to fall perfectly into place.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Technology and computers have fascinated me for as long as I can remember. Growing up with both parents working in the tech field, I was inspired to pursue a career in the industry. This passion led me to Georgia Southern University, where I earned a degree in Computer Science. During my time there, I honed my coding skills and applied them to solve various problems within the community.
As I explored the limitless potential of software, I realized its incredible ability to improve lives and businesses. This realization motivated me to start a business centered around this idea—providing software and automation solutions that could make a meaningful impact. Whether it’s developing investing software to help build generational wealth, creating a nanny and babysitting app, or designing a construction cost estimator for general contractors, I take pride in delivering solutions for people I’ve formed genuine connections with.
For me, this work goes beyond making a sale. It’s about living the values my mother, Jean, instilled in me—using God-given talents to leave a lasting impact on those around me. Through my business, I strive to combine innovation with purpose, helping others succeed while fulfilling a mission that’s deeply personal.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I met my co-founder, Dennis Butler, at Chattahoochee Works in Atlanta. As I was walking through the food hall, I happened to notice someone sitting at the bar with a computer. Being passionate about investing and recently developing an interest in trading and technical analysis, I immediately recognized the stock candlestick charts on his screen from a mile away. Intrigued, I decided to strike up a conversation and share my work and journey in the space. The rest is history.
Now, you might catch us both with our computers, having business meetings at food halls around Atlanta.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Shortly after my co-founder and I decided to partner up and begin our journey with Jeanius Technology, I was faced with a major decision. I had the chance to meet the founders of another company operating in the trading and investing software space—an organization I had admired for some time. They were more established, with a significant following in the community. After sharing a glimpse of the software I had been developing, they were impressed and offered me the position of CTO at their company.
This opportunity could have brought me a lot of recognition much faster than building my own company would. However, it also meant that everything I had worked on for years would fall under the name and identity of a company I didn’t create. Accepting the role would have meant going back on my decision and commitment to start my own journey with my co-founder.
Ultimately, I turned the offer down. I believe this decision was a true testament to my integrity, loyalty, and resilience—to build from the ground up and to not cheat the process by taking shortcuts.
