We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Justin Grey a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Justin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Despite the negative connotation surrounding the word risk, it is the only way to achieve success in life. There is a popular saying that goes “ no risk no reward” this simply means , if you’re not willing to take a chance or do something outside of your comfort zone you will never achieve greater heights or levels of success. I’m not only firm believer in the popular saying but I am also living testimony of success through risk-taking.
In 2016, I made the decision to wholeheartedly follow my dream of becoming a Dj and an entertainer. Though it can be deemed as a big risk to put all your eggs into one basket it was a chance I was willing to take with music. My love and passion for music is un-thinkable , the joys it gives me are indescribable , and the impact it has on others is unimaginable.
Though the journey has not always been easy it has definitely proven to be fulfilling.
Justin , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My industry is music and I operate in the space as a disc jock, entertainer, and event coordinator. My main brands of affiliation are Firm Music , Legacy Ent. and Respct Co.
The main thing I want people to know about the brands I represent is that we are for the people. Our main objective is to provide value and curate quality experiences through music , lifestyle and entertainment.
My greatest joy is knowing that my God-given talents and abilities impact others in a positive way.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I’ve built my “audience” through developing genuine relationships with my followers and also networking. I try to remain not only relatable but personable as well and I’ve found that this has been beneficial to growing my following. I also think that the constant content I post assisted in expanding my social media.
For those who are looking to build a social media presence, it’s important to remember the more content you post the higher your chances are of new people discovering you. I think it’s also critical to know each social media platform as each form of medium is diverse. Understanding how to utilize these platforms and their algorithms is crucial in maximizing this process. I believe creating authentic connections and being relatable is a large factor in generating an audience as well.
How’d you meet your business partner?
My main business partner is Kasjuan “Dj Karbon” Wilson. Our friendship has developed over the years but it began in Plantation High School where we both attended classes and had mutual friends. We started hanging out and going to events together and that is where we realized we had the same interest for music. After graduating high school, Karbon used one of his last paychecks to buy music equipment. What started out as a simple hobby for us quickly sprung into a thriving business as we realized the high demand for the talent we possessed. It was from the initial sacrifice that we were able to practice and hone our craft. Fast forward six years later, not only is our music going well but our friendship has also grown. Loyalty is one of the cornerstones of our friendship and we live by that to this day.
