Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Justin Balint. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Justin, appreciate you joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
I’m very happy to be a business owner. I’ve jumped through a lot of hoops to get where I’m at, and I have had some wonderful people help me along the way that I would never forget. I love having the freedom making my own schedule being able to takeoff time when I want not having to ask the boss for time off in advance.
I have thought about a regular job because being a business owner does come with other stresses but freedom is the most important thing to have in my opinion .
It’s easier to work for someone and allowing them to provide business for you, but the strength and personal growth is coming from you having to do all the hard work yourself and making sure you have business coming in to survive and prosper

Justin, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Justin. I’ve been a licensed barber since 2010.
I had gotten into this industry when I was 14 years old, I started cutting my own hair and practicing regularly until one day, One of my friends had saw a haircut I had done on myself and was interested in getting his haircut by myself as well, he then later had told other friends about my haircutting skills and then all my friends also wanted me to cut their hair and then things had developed from there and intrigued me to get into Barber College.
I feel I stand out from the rest of the barbers On many reasons, I not only give a client to my knowledge a wonderful haircut and service, but I also give clients haircuts according to their hair type and face structure. A lot of barbers just normally do what the client wants without any feedback to the client and giving them suggestions. I truly listen to each client and everything they have to say before I proceed with their haircut and if I think something is better for their face, I would recommend something to them.
Most of the time clients will take my recommendation and they are very happy with the end result.
When a client is happy, it’s it gives you a very happy feeling and it makes you want to continue doing well.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy I’ve used to help me build my business, is striving to give the best customer service/experience.
I would also have to say passing out business cards and flyers and talking to people and showing my work in the process and standing out from other shops.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What I feel has helped me build a steady clientele would be, providing great customer service and truly listening to customers about what they are looking for and making sure the client is happy with the finished outcome.
I also believe in professionalism and getting my clients in the proper time frame of their scheduled appointment.
