We were lucky to catch up with Just Yae recently and have shared our conversation below.
Just , appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Im Now a Full Time Audio Engineer, So luckily i got to go to Texas Southern University For Entertainment and recording Industry management Before Transferring to To Media Tech Back Home, And while i was there My professor got some of his students Internships at Takeover Studios And i got to learn a lot and polish my skills there while also being around some big names and heavy hitters in the industry. it taught me patience and speed . having to be quick on my feet and even faster in the chair because the smallest mistake and the rapper or client could get irritated and have to leave. the biggest obstacle had to be myself because i thought i knew everything, not knowing how much i didn’t know it was a great learning experience

Just , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a 22 year old Alternative R&B artist and Engineer, i help music artists take incomplete ideas and make them into Industry Ready Music For Public Consumption, I also just Happen to Be An Above Average Artist as well. Im most Proud of the work i got to do with Mickey Shiloh and my own personal artists. i was also featured on Lyrical Lemonade i was Geeked when i got the email im still kinda on a high from that right now
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
uhh hm that’s hard because there’s so many things that’s different in just the past 5 to 10 years but i think the most important one would be twitch or TikTok i would’ve had an easier time building a fanbase back then lol

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
The Non Linear thinking pattern. i can be doing something completely unrelated to music and instantly have an idea for a full album and have to get it out, it can be painful cause then im spending the next 48 hours completely obsessing about this one idea and it could be the most amazing thing I’ve ever created or i can hate it and be drained for the next week and a half. its draining but that’s the price of being a creative
