We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Juno a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Juno , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
That’s a good question, If I could go back in time with the knowledge that I have now as an artist. I think I would have definitely took music more seriously at a young age. I started singing when I was 3 years old. Truthfully I think I always knew that I wanted to do music in some way. I just wasn’t sure what I wanted to do back then. I remember my mom used to take me to Disney channel auditions and put me in choir. But it wasn’t until I was high school that I started actually writing and learning to record my own music. I think if I could go back in time I would definitely have more confidence in myself as an artist. But I think I would have asked my mom Sonja to push me more. She was my first fan. I definitely would have asked her to be my “Donda” in those moments. However I don’t regret my experience. I believe in divine timing and I think everything that happened leading up to this point was me walking in God’s purpose.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
For those who don’t know my name is Junovxrse I am 24 year old independent soul-indie/R&B artist born in Los Angeles, California but raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I began my musical journey at the age of three, where I would sing at Debbie Day Care Center in Inglewood. It wasn’t until 2019 that I released my first single. Before then I would record most of my singles pre-recorded in my bedroom using GarageBand and other music editing software like protools. Now I have two songs out which are 9-5 and Down, However, They are the first singles that will be on my EP that I am planning to release this year. I want to give my listeners more. I’ve been working on visuals to give my viewers to get a taste of the inspiration behind the lyrics. I think for a long time I was afraid to show myself due to my self confidence. I think now more than ever I’m confident enough to start putting out music videos. I also have a huge performance coming up March 25th with an organization at University of Florida.
Acting has also been very huge for me this year. I was in a short film and had a cameo in a friend’s music video earlier this year.
I think the acting has also helped my confidence a lot. Even though as a kid I was always on stage and in theatre. I’ve also been writing my own screenplay as well. Im working on a pilot episode for the show right now. This year I’ve been expanding myself into multiple avenues. I don’t believe in limitation. I think that’s the beauty of life. We have so many layers about ourselves. This is the year of re-learning myself and valuing all my talents. I cannot wait for you all to see what is in store.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think the most rewarding thing about being a creative is being able to share my music with the world. When I’m creating a song in my room for the first time, I try to envision how It would feel to listen to it as a listener for the first time. I get so many different opinions. But I love all feedback because It makes me grow into my artisty more.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I love this question, Truth be told I built my social media presence a couple of different ways. Once I made sure my instagram was specific to my music. I only posted about music and things related to it. Second I followed a lot of local artist in my area and began to go to musical events, and lastly I started posting my music. I would say the biggest lesson I’ve learned and that I can give my listeners is just be yourself. People love authenticity. There is absolutely no one that can do what you do. Make it known and show it on a platform. Let your personality shine through.
