We recently connected with Junie Boyer and have shared our conversation below.
Junie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you share a customer success story with us?
As a nonprofit founder and president I have the opportunity to dialogue and engage with various young girls and women from all walks of life. Based out of Orlando FL; my nonprofit (4 HER Perspectives) mission is to inspire, encourage and empower individuals to overcome obstacles through workshops, mentoring and community outreach.
We go into transitional housing facilities, group homes and shelters and we have the opportunity to do life skills and mentoring with Indivdual and groups. There was a young lady who was 19 years old at the time whom we met at a group home. She was residing there with her younger sister. In connecting and getting to know them we as an organization like to understand and know some of there needs. Employment, continuing education and transportation were some of the needs they had.
As a nonprofit we may not be able to assist with every need but we have access to resources and other community partner organizations that can assist. Through our nonprofit these young ladies were assisted with employment, bus passes for transportation and we even assisted them in getting furniture and room and board.
The oldest young lady was able to complete her Highschool GED and get accepted and start her education to become a CNA. She is currently working two jobs, and still remains in the home we connected her with.
Many times what seems as if it’s little effort goes a long way and makes a lasting impact and affect on the lives of others.
This story was meaningful because it truly exemplifies why the nonprofit was created and how it exists to shift and transform the lives of those it encounters.
No matter what your story is we believe that “you have the power to overcome”. As a nonprofit we stand in the gap with the community ensuring that we are able to propel the lives of others; not just in words, but action.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Junie Boyer. I am an author of “The Whole & Healed You”, Ms. Corporate America 2022, CEO & founder of 4 HER Perspective Nonprofit, a speaker and women’s advocate. My love for women and young girls stem from what I believe is my purpose and gift. I am an encourager, motivator and it brings me much joy to aide others in any way I’m able to.
Growing up I never had a mentor. Although my upbringing wasn’t harsh like others I went through normal adolescent experiences. I was always wise bound my years; hanging out with those older than me. The younger crowds never interest me.
As I got older I realized just how important and vital having a mentor was. There is a sense of direction with a mentor. There is a sense of gaining knowledge about life and
Or the proper assistance needed to navigate life as it comes.
This is what led me to start 4 HER Perspective 501c3 nonprofit. The nonprofit’s services / mission is to inspire, encourage and empower individuals to overcome obstacles through workshops, mentoring and community outreach.
This nonprofit’s end goal is to be a hub where community citizens can come for youth mentoring, resources, FREE clothing and workshops that focus on assisting them with employment, money management, and mental health.
I am most proud of all the work we have done in the past four years. We’ve managed to feed over 500 people, clothe (through “The Secret Closer” initiative) over 250 people, provide life skills for several group homes and transitional housing facilities , mentor within schools (grade 8-12th) and participate in many community events with our community partners.
What I would want the community, fans and followers to know about 4 HER Perspective Nonprofit is that we truly desire to be light in a dark world and support, aide and assist as many people as possible. Even if we don’t have what you need we ensure you that we will connect you with what your looking for through our community resources and partners.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Those that know me can say that I am these three things; selfless, servant leader and a giver. Because of this EVERYTHING I do centers around helping others. Even when I’m not doing anything my mind is always thinking and processing what I can do to truly make a difference in my community.
Wether it be in ministry, within the writing of my first book (The Whole & Healed You” prayer affirmation) work or my community efforts; I have always done the work to support and uplift others who maybe experiencing a season of turbulence.
Any advice for managing a team?
When running a business it truly starts at the head. If the head is disorganized or in low spirits it will trickle down to the team. I must be honest and say that I’m running my nonprofit for the past four years I’ve made many mistakes and have learned valuable lessons that now help me better steward the vision and the people who labor alongside me in the vision.
As a leader you have to be able to have clear vision, have a team that has a heart for the vision and be able to delegate. This is one of the greatest lessons I have learned because as a leader because this business is considered your baby you unconsciously take on everything. There may even be a sense of no one will do it like me or take care of it like me. But after you get out your head you have to realize that your organization/ business is as only good as it’s team (the core).
