We were lucky to catch up with Jung Seo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jung, appreciate you joining us today. We love heartwarming stories – do you have a heartwarming story from your career to share?
Every moment is heartwarming when my patients walk into my office, and I can tell they are getting better just by looking at their appearance. A pretty red sweater with pink blush on the cheeks tells me more than any words. I instantly know that the person finally has a space in their mind to find themselves in the mirror and try to brighten up again. I can see that they are able to go more places with their loved ones when they confidently walk in without a cane. These experiences also inspire me to work on myself to be in a good condition; working out even after a long day, resolving insurance problems right away, and accepting no-shows can happen. Because I know these efforts will accelerate the virtuous cycle.

Jung, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My mom uses hand acupuncture to help people who try to lose weight in South Korea. I have seen many people get healthier from their look to mind with acupuncture. Therefore, I have learned how physical change can improve one’s mental health together. This became my mission when I opened my acupuncture office ‘Needles & Cups’. My slogan is pain and stress relief. It’s my 10th year obtaining my license, and it becomes more and more clear that the body and mind are connected and we have to treat them as a whole. I use the pulse pattern harmonizing acupuncture technique to find a balance in meridians and assess muscles and nerve areas to help with physical pains.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think finding the right balance between a passion to treat people and setting reasonable rules helped me build my reputation. I have learned that informing people clearly about what I can and cannot do is very important. Once we agree on what I can offer them, then I try my best to help them out.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I think being transparent and attentive is the most effective strategy to grow my clientele. Providing them a space and service to relax and get well with trust has been working for me.
