Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Juneil Bettis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Juneil, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Any advice for creating a more inclusive workplace?
When I think about creating a more inclusive workplace environment a lot of the companies, I work with initially focus their time and efforts on diversity and inclusion, providing unbiased training and workshops but one of the most common areas that I see get overlooked is the area of Financial Wellness. Financial Wellness is essential to creating a more inclusive workplace for any company and if COVID didn’t teach us anything it taught us that employees are struggling financially, and it is impacting their productivity, team morale, and their overall health. In order for a company of any size to create a more financially inclusive workplace it needs to include the following: addressing pay inequality, provide access to financial literacy tools and financial wellness trainings to create a more inclusive workplace. When we saw that this was a common problem that existed in companies and organizations of any size, we launched our Financial Wellness Solutions division to help companies build and implement financial wellness initiatives in the workplace. As we prepared to enter into a new year every company should have a financial wellness strategy in place that shouldn’t be only confined to one month but should be a focus throughout the year. We look forward to working with more companies and continuing to advocate for financial inclusion in the workplace.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have always been interested in business and finance since I can remember but I really discovered it was my passion and purpose when I got to college. I took a job working at a bank and discovered that I really enjoyed being in finance. That job launched my career into finance where I have now been for the past 13 years. I absolutely love helping businesses owners build profitable businesses and creating and implementing financial systems and strategies into their business. I partner with my clients as an accountant and finance coach, and I wouldn’t change it for the world!

We love our partners, and the stories of impact has been amazing to see.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy we have used for growing our clientele has been to build relationships and community. We get a lot of our business from referrals and building relationships on and offline. When this year started, we wanted to focus on being intentional with building and in doing that we focused a lot on growing our existing relationships and building in the community. What we have learned over this past year is that people want to do business with people that they know, like, and trust and we have seen the impact of that as our clientele has doubled this year with that being our focus and strategy.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
My advice to any business owner or entrepreneur is to never stop learning. Don’t ever stop becoming a student of your industry. The moment that you do that is the moment everything will begin to change for you. I love reading business and finance books. But I also love personal and spiritual development books. Some of my personal favorites are the Bible, Believe Bigger by Marshawn Daniels, Profit First by Mike Michalowicz, The Vision Driven Leader by Michael Hyatt, and Entrepreneurial Leadership by Joel Peterson. One of the things I am making a habit of is asking people what they are reading and adding those to my book list. It has helped me to always have resources that I can pull from and also has helped me to be a resource to others.
