We caught up with the brilliant and insightful July Jennifer Lamour a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, July Jennifer thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission at LunaBella SkinCare begins with compassion & ends with beauty. From the moment you take your shoes off to the warm cozy spa bed, to leaving with glowing radiant skin or even a newfound confidence because you have new brows or luscious lips of color (Lipblushing) you will leave feeling illuminated & blissful for our next session.
I work with compassion, light & love. This may seem exotic for a simple facial but my healing & purpose in life is to make people feel good, from the inside out. We glow because our soul glows, we feel beautiful inside, it will show on the outside.
I believe touch is vital to feeling wonderful, loved. Giving my clients a safe space is an escape for them, using products that are natural & the way in which you use them ie; massage is essential in skincare results that keep my clients coming back every month. Not only do they continuously book appointments they refer many others, my business now comes solely from referrals. Social media platforms are beneficial in business but when work comes to you in abundance from referrals I feel my work showcases positively & I end my work day with a feeling of fulfillment.
That brings me to leaving work, I work from home. I have a dedicated work room in my home & the designer in me makes you feel like you are at a day spa. There’s no hustle & bustling about, it’s a retreat. You forget where you are, total bliss, because you are deserving. Working from my space allows me to bring you to my healing space with light & positive energy work. I don’t have to work at a fast pace, I don’t have to worry about selling a certain quota for services or products. I can give facials or PMU services from a loving & compassionate self. We can connect & melt the day away if only for a moment.
Taking time for self love, self care is needed in times like now. We go at a fast pace in our daily life so entering my space at LunaBella SkinCare is all about you, finding your serene, finding your beauty, finding your confidence. My services are luxury facials with illuminated results, it’s my water side.
My permanent make-up services tap into my artistic soul & these services go hand & hand with my perfectionist side. I’m a writer, painter & designer so finding work where I can make art everyday on clients is another medium that feeds my soul. It’s my fire side.
So again, my mission is to heal, spread the love & light while illuminating your soul so we get back to feeling beautiful as we all should.

July Jennifer, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello beautiful souls, my name is July; like the month. My parents named me after my birth month and Jennifer is my middle name. I go by both depending on who’s calling.
My life changed completely because I faced my fears of starting over at an age I didn’t think was possible. I was literally & figuratively at a crossroads in my life. At the time my online business selling Swarovski Rhinestones was tanking, I just went through a divorce that left me questioning everything, I was driving for Lyft just to pay the bills & my Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Life had me in a swirl but I did a ton of reflecting while driving many hours. The fear I had was so intense but I dove right into the unknown. I changed everything about my life at 42.
I felt “something else” was calling to me; what is it I love, what have I always wanted to do, what am I good at & have a grand passion for?
When my Dad was in the hospital we had many deep conversations, one in particular meant the world to me.
This conversation landed myself onto the steps of Aveda Institute of Tucson. I began my journey in 2019 with an amazing school & found myself in a dreamland of skincare. During a microblading demo I found my calling and became certified in microblading. My soul is deeply artistic and this PMU beauty industry had me in awe and inspired. Every day since being certified I had the luxury of creating beautiful PMU art on friends followed by referrals, I am beyond humbled. Seeing my clients (that also become friends) feel beautiful is the most rewarding gift & in doing so I feel so fulfilled after each appointment. Starting my life over has been a blessing and I have my lovely and loyal clients to thank for this.
I have found my true destiny.
I am an artist, I delve into everything artsy; design, painting, poetry & dance. If you so desire to read a poem or more my blog is at julyjennifer.com. I have been an entrepreneur and business woman all my life. In my off-time I like to collect plants, practice healing ritual ceremonies such as yoga/goddess ceremonies, paint & obsess over my 2 felines, fiance somewhere in there ;p https://www.julyjennifer.com/?m=1

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I have secrets, tools of the trade. I’ve been a business owner pretty much my entire life so this is based on experience & what makes me feel good as a repeating client.
Some estheticians or PMU artist may not like this but I do for my clients. Your guests want to feel appreciated & they should as they keep your business thriving. Of course, your work being the selling point. But when you have clients that leave your business feeling bliss then you will be given the same abundance.
Here’s some simple tips below.
Tip #1
Social media is vital especially starting out. Post a photo everyday. Make it artistic, make it pretty. Be genuine, think about what you want to see or what draws you in.
Tip #2
Talk to everyone, this is the time you can’t be shy. You need to put yourself out there. You will only gain confidence.
Tip #3
GIVE INCENTIVES!! I can’t express this enough. Clients want to feel valued as they should. Give incentives that benefit both parties, this pertains to businesses similar to mine or the service industry. For example, clients that book 2 appts in advance will get a discount/certain pricing. This will lead to your books being filled (usually 2-3 months out) & they are getting VIP pricing, which everyone loves special pricing. Discounts when they purchase gift cards, holiday specials, or a credit on their account for every new client they refer.
Tip #4
Be authentic, be kind, be a source they trust. You need to have a relationship with your guest. It doesn’t matter their political views, their skin color (only with performing certain skincare services this matters), their background, their status on anything; treat everyone with love & respect. We all come from a place of needing a safe haven to just be.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Building a relationship with your clients is essential. They have my personal number & we communicate often. With questions about skincare regimens to other businesses we may need. So not only are we building an empire together we are sharing in the success of other businesses. I value my clients & their journey in life. We share tears, laughter, frustrations, happiness through our sessions. Keeping in touch via phone is highly valuable.
Fostering brand loyalty is keeping those loyal clients at VIP pricing, they are my number one. I also have VIP of the month with a framed photo of them on my wall. Not only do they feel special, they get a discount for that month as well. Along with birthday & yearly anniversaries I spoil my clients but then again, they spoil me!
